Product Details of MVP Baseball 2003 Xbox

Description

MVP Baseball 2003 from EA Sports is the most authentic and comprehensive baseball game on the market. MVP Baseball 2003 redefines what a baseball simulation should look and play like. Featuring true-to-life baseball gameplay, MVP Baseball 2003 sets the standard for player animations, franchise mode play, game depth, and more. It also delivers the excitement and drama of baseball?s defining moment -- the pitcher-batter showdown. The pitcher can make mistakes and fail to execute, just like real baseball. And with a more intuitive batting model, you have more control to slap a single the other way, drill an extra-base hit down the line, or blast a hanging curve into the bleachers. Step up to the plate and deliver with the game on the line in MVP Baseball 2003.

EA is back in baseball

Strengths: Strong baseball simulation; responsive controls

Weakness: Some AI issues; ball physics a bit unrealistic; no practice swings or pitcher warm-ups

MVP Baseball 2003 is EA's re-entry into the baseball genre. They shelved the Triple Play series because it had become too much of an arcade game. MVP Baseball sets out to correct that by being more of an authentic simulation of the game. The nicest addition to this game is the pressure-sensitive throwing. The harder you press the button, the harder the ball is thrown. This leads to better control...

MVP Baseball 2003

Strengths: Great pitching interface, franchise mode

Weakness: Can be very difficult to hit, no online play

MVP Baseball 2003 is a very good baseball game for the Xbox. Like all EA Sports games, there is a very large and in depth franchise mode which is also accompanied by exhibition and season modes. The most innovative part of this game is the pitching controls. They work very similar to a lot of the older golf games in that you must hold the button for the pitch to set the velocity and then you must...

MVP Baseball 2003

Strengths: Gameplay

Weakness: Graphics

I liked this game. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but the gameplay to this game was pretty fun. Pitching was kind of tough, however it was well worth what I paid for it. I'd recommend this game as a cheap baseball game to anyone.

MVP Baseball 2003 is as close to a real baseball game as you can get. Select your favorite MLB team and set out to win the World Series. The graphics are amazing and detailed and the gameplay is perfect. MVP 2003 is the best baseball game you can buy.

MVP Baseball 2003

There was a time when Randy Johnson’s move from Seattle to Arizona was thought, by some, to be both the towering pitcher’s and Seattle’s swan song. How could they let him go? How could he move to an expansion franchise? Then Curt Shilling joined Diamondbacks, making the duo arguably the best 1-2 pitching starters in Major League Baseball today. Arizona’s club had a plan. Think you...

MVP Baseball 2003

What happens when you have been doing the same thing day in and day out year after year? You get complacent. Quality goes down. Essentially, you get stuck in a rut. This is exactly what happened to EA's Triple Play series. The past few years have not been kind to the series. Sure it had the graphics, but gameplay was lacking when compared with the competition. So what did EA do? It pulled the...

It’s a bold move to bail on a franchise that’s sold well since the Genesis days, but Triple Play was a tired act that gratefully relinquished the spotlight to MVP Baseball.

MVP Baseball 2003

As a beleaguered franchise toils toward the bottom of the standings, there are really only two directions for an owner to consider: They can either go out like the Brew-Crew, worry more about adjusting jocks than batting orders, and hope the season comes to a quick conclusion, or they can do like the Phillies and rework the team from scratch, dumping the players that caused problems in favor of...
