Phoenix Wright's Apprentice

Strengths: Strong story and characters.

Weakness: Doesn't star Phoenix Wright!

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney is another excellent entry in the Ace Attorney series. The story and characters are as solid as ever, and the new gameplay wrinkles are pretty good. The main issue that I (and most others) have with the title is that it doesn't star Phoenix Wright (but does feature him). A couple of the cases could be better, but overall this is a solid game.

Phoenix Wright... no more?

Strengths: Great new cast with some new investigative tools

Weakness: Not new enough?

Apollo Justice marks a new direction for the Ace Attorney series. Departing from the classic cast led by Phoenix Wright, Apollo Justice arrives with his own set of friends and enemies, with some familiar faces showing up on both sides as the adventure goes on. While some may think this dependence upon the old cast acts as a crutch for the game, it's a great segue for old fans and a fresh start...

Applause for Apollo

Strengths: The new perceive option lets you spot witnesses' nervous habits. You also get to use more forensic techniques like dusting for fingerprints or making a plaster footprint.

Weakness: It is easy to get stuck. You can end up spending hours rechecking for a missed detail. I wish the game would lock into the scene that contains the problem, so I wouldn't have to recheck everything.

I love this game! Everything ties together. I've played games and seen movies where they never explain the things they've shown. This one explains it all. It is like the fifth case in "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney." You get to examine thing from all angles. This game really makes you think! It is very rewarding to finish.

Apollo Justice

Strengths: Phoenix Wright style gameplay, great character design, fun cases

Weakness: n/a

Apollo Justice is the fourth entry in the Gyakuten Saiban series and the first not starring Phoenix Wright as the main character. However, all the elements that made the Phoenix Wright games great are there, and Phoenix is still a main character in this game. Any fan of the original Phoenix Wright games should pick this up, no questions asked. Can't wait for the next one!

Apollo is, dare I say it, better than Phoenix

Strengths: Great story, DS controls

Weakness: Waiting for the next one

I was a little upset when the next Ace Attorney game wasn't going to have Phoenix Wright. About halfway through the first case, any worries over the new lead character were erased. These games are text-based adventures and live or die on the story. As the stories of the three previous games were great, this one also is, maybe more so. The other games were GBA ports, and only the last case of the...

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney

Strengths: Touch screen features and video enriches the experience; great storyline.

Weakness: In some ways, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney feels too much like the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, but with a new cast of characters.

Ace Attorney cases are broken up into two sections; investigation and trials. You play as a detective, you can talk to witnesses, collect evidence, and gather information to prove that your client is innocent. Eventually you will have to bring all of that information into a courtroom to present to a judge. You will also have to fight a prosecutor. Through the text based adventure, you'll have to...
