Grandia Xtreme

Strengths: Excellent fighting system. It is just like the previous games, but only better. Nice and colorful graphics.

Weakness: Everything but the fighting. Its plot and story are weak, characters are underdeveloped, and it becomes too monotonous.

Overall, the game is only enjoyable for its fighting system. The graphics are only slightly better than Grandia 2, but I would expect better since it's a Playstation 2 game. Everything else in the game has gotten worse then the previous two Grandia games. This game takes about 25-30 hours to beat. I recommend this game only if you really liked the other Grandia games or else many are just going...

Grandia Xtreme

Strengths: One of the best battle systems ever integrated into an RPG.

Weakness: Lots of random battles and a weaker story. Feels more like a dungeon crawler than anything else. Not considered a sequel to Grandia 1 or 2.

The Grandia series is my all-time favorite rpg series to date. I was expecting the awesome battle system I've grown to love, and Enix delivered! However, it seems that they dropped the ball on everything else. There are way too many battles you have to fight through (but the battle system makes up for this), and the story is the weakest by far of all the Grandias. Though if you're a fan like I...

Grandia + Dungeon Crawler = Fun

Strengths: Awesome battle system, hilarious voice acting choices (MARK HAMILL, LISA LOEB)

Weakness: Not Grandia 3 (if that is a weakness, really)

Grandia is certainly top tier when it comes to RPG battle systems, so a Grandia dungeon crawler is a great combination. Anyone who's really into Grandia, dungeon crawlers or RPGs should have a blast with this game. The story is obviously not going to be good, but for what it is, it's a great dungeon crawler.

The Next Grandia in the Series!!!

Strengths: Graphic is up a notch from Grandia II, Soundtrack is decent! Story is Okay!

Weakness: A step down in the series! Way to Hard Gameplay! confusing Boring Dungeon! Bad character development!

Grandia Xtreme isn't So Xtreme... One of the most popular RPG series, with this entry... it seem like a black sheep in the herd. Degraceing the Grandia Name... Pros: Graphic is Nice & pretty... even for an RPG game... Soundtrack is decent... not something I ll humm too... Cons: Weak Storyline, game is just way too hard! really confusing gameplay... Game gets boring after a while & don't drive you...

Buy it for the gameplay

Strengths: Gameplay and battle system.

Weakness: Story, Voice acting.

If it wasn't for the battle system and overall gameplay this game would be unplayable. The battle system is taken from the previous Grandia's, but seems so much better in this game. Each boss requires a certain amount of strategy in order to defeat and the random battles are a pleasure to play in this game thanks to the battle system. Each character has there own special abilities or learned...

Grandia Xtreme

Strengths: Combat-system

Weakness: Storyline

Grandia Xtreme is kind of a side story to the Grandia series because it really has nothing to do with it. The main strength however of the game is the combat system. In it, players can attack other enemies with standard moves or charge up spells or special moves. What makes the combat mode so interesting is that you can also cancel out one of your enemy’s moves and vice-versa. If an enemy is...

Grandia Xtreme (ps2)

Before starting, I want to point out that I loved Grandia and Grandia II. I followed Justin on his adventure to become an adventurer, and Ryudo on his quest to be a wise-cracking savior of the world. I own both games, and I've finished them both. I loved Grandia's battle system, and liked Grandia II's better. Having established myself as a true fan of Grandia games, I now feel justified in...

Grandia Xtreme

After a nearly 2-year hiatus, the Grandia series is back in fine form. While this isn’t a full-fledged sequel to Grandia II, it does offer up an adventure that is worthy of its namesake. This new installment of the Grandia series focuses on Evann, a young rebellious ranger who is voiced by none other than Superman-has-been Dean Cane. It seems that four giant storms have unexpectedly appeared...

Grandia Xtreme (ps2)

I'm an RPG fan by trade. In fact, my dedication to the genre is one of the reasons I have this job today. Though Doug doesn't care for the genre much and Dave usually doesn't have the time to play them, RPGs are truly my bread and butter. I play any and all of them, and am always on the hunt for the next big thing to stand up along the likes of titles like Final Fantasy, Suikoden, and Dragon...
