Product Details of Way of the Samurai

Description

Way of the Samurai is set in the year 1878. The collapse of the Tokugawa Shogun ate and the rise of the Meiji Restoration Era has brought an end to the Age of Samurai. For centuries, Japan has remained untouched and separate from other cultures. But now Westerners have finally arrived on the island nation, rocking a culture that has developed in seclusion over hundreds of years. Born to a time that no longer needs or welcomes them, these samurai are a far cry from the heroes and legends that preceded them. This is a story of the Way of the Samurai in their final days.

Live the life of a samurai

Strengths: +customizable samurai +different endings +collect swords +upgradable swords + 2 player vs + easy controls

Weakness: -graphics -voice overs -music -real short -saving

Samurai fans will love this one. You create a samurai and create your own adventure. Your story will be determined by how you interact with people. For example from the get go you have the choice of saving a maiden in distress. After defeating an enemy you usually have the opportunity of stealing their sword. You can carry 3 swords at a time, and each sword can be upgraded. There are many endings...

A samurai simultor

Strengths: Good move set, and easy to learn controls

Weakness: Very short, story is generic.

I like old samurai movies and this game feels like one, a good samurai adventure that feels slightly dated, a Samurai with an afro is awesome! Overall the graphics a fairly good in this game, it is an early Playstation 2 title but still looks decent. This game is the first of three games to released and it is still the best playing of all three. The two biggest complaints I have about this game...

Way of the Samurai

Strengths: Good graphics, branching storyline, cool fighting system

Weakness: very short, terrible save system, may be too slow paced and RPG structured for some

The Way Of the Samurai is a unique game. While it attempts to break new ground in gameplay, its suffers in other, more common areas of game design and development. The branching storyline system is easily one of the best features of the game, allowing a player to affect the storyline with a number of choice spread throughout the overall "plot". Granted, these "storylines" you choose are on the...

Way of the Samurai

It is the year 1878, and the collapse of the Tokugawa Shogunate has brought an end to the golden era of the Samurai. People no longer need or want to see a samurai walking down the street. The gamer is put in the shoes of a nameless samurai traveling through Rokkotsu Pass, where two major Clans are fighting for control of it, and you can be the deciding factor in this war. Questions arise to...

Way of the Samurai (ps2)

While Acquire's Way of the Samurai is perhaps not as good a game as Tenchu was, it is as good a ronin simulator as that was a ninja simulator. You can maybe chalk up some of its comparative shortcomings to the choice of subject matter, then -- wandering samurai are fun, but most would agree that ninja are much more so. Nevertheless, it's quite a good game in its own right, if you're willing to...
