Deus Ex newbie

Strengths: Anything even hinting at an rpg is good for the xbox

Weakness: Has not aged well

It takes a little time to get into Deus Ex. I found myself initially put off because, compared to newer titles, Deus Ex looks a bit haggard. And while the story eventually becomes engaging, it does not immediately grasp one's attention. Once you get used to the combat-lite experience, the world can pull you in. I had not played the previous Deus Ex title, which may account for the initial...

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Strengths: Great mixture of role-playing and first person shooting. Excellent story that allows the player to play any type of role he wishes. Excellent character customization.

Weakness: One type of ammunition. Convoluted story that doesn't allow you to fully understand your part in the plot until later in the game.

This is a sequel that I have been waiting for since I completed the first Deus Ex game. This game does not disappoint. It has the same role-playing/first person style, with great environments, and an excellent (yet convoluted) story. The pacing of the game is a little slow for a console, and relies heavily on dialogue with moments of action. Overall, this is a fantastic game.

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Strengths: Free form gameplay. Compelling story.

Weakness: Long loading times.

Deus Ex's strongest point is that it allows you to play it however you wish. You can use a variety of options to accomplish your objectives. But more than that you can choose what objectives you want to complete, and what factions you want to aid. Your choices effect the outcome of the story. In a sense you drive the direction of the branching story. Add to this some rpg like elements that let...

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Strengths: Great Story Line

Weakness: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE, Can't say it enough HORRIBLE combat!

Story line in Deus Ex is AWESOME. Deus Ex for the PC was one of the best games ever, this game has great graphics and story line. But I can not begin to describe how GOD AWFUL the combat is. If you're buying this for the gameplay and combat--don't. The same ammo is used for every gun, there is no recoil, and headshots don't matter. Ridiculous.

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Strengths: futuristic setting, good graphics

Weakness: load times

This game is the sequel to the amazing Deus Ex for pc and ps2. This game has the havok's physics engine, and fantastic lighting. This was the greatest looking xbox games of its time in my opinion. This game has guns but you don't have to use any of them. This game is very open ended. Take it for what it is worth.

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Strengths: Open-ended gameplay, great graphics, immersive storyline, story changes to reflect your actions as you work through the game

Weakness: Long load times, graphics can chug a bit at times, a little "dumbed-down" for fans of the original Deus Ex

Deus Ex: Invisble War is set 20 years after the first Deus Ex game and tells a very immersive and interesting story. Part RPG, part first person shooter, there are numerous ways to work through a problem, and the game adapts to the choices made. There's plenty of action and plenty of puzzles to work through, and the environment does make it feel more like living through it, rather than playing...

Deus Ex: Invisible War

Only a few years ago, many publications were declaring Ion Storm's masterpiece, Deus Ex, the game of the year. So many journalists were enthralled by this game that an actual "Game of the Year" edition of the game hit store shelves after a short time. Yes, the game did have its problems, but with so many stunning (especially at the time) innovations, you can imagine the amount of hype that's...

Deus Ex: Invisible War (xbox)

Thanksgiving is a time to gather together with your loved ones and celebrate the priorities that you pretty much ignore the rest of the year. It's also the time for me to play a hell of a lot of Deus Ex: Invisible War. In between my seven full meals of turkey I managed to ignore my family just long enough to finish Deus Ex: Invisible War for both the PC and Xbox. Having been a fan of the PC...

Deus Ex: Invisible War (xbox)

I've learned that it's seldom a good idea to harbor inflated expectations, because even the best games can fail to live up to them. But I'm only human, so once in a while a game can still get under my skin and crank up that hype meter to 11. Such has been the case with Deus Ex: Invisible War, and it's not hard to see why. Invisible War is the sequel to Deus Ex, a PC action-RPG sci-fi thriller of...
