Expansion to Supreme Commander

Strengths: Good graphics. Continues the story of the Supreme Commander. Can be played as standalone without the original game.

Weakness: High hardware requirement is needed to run the game smoothly. Without Supreme Commander, only one faction can be played.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is the expansion to one of the most acclaimed modern RTS game, Supreme Commander. Forged Alliance, although is an expansion, it does not require the original game in order to be played. It can act as a standalone game for those without the original game. Forged Alliance inherited the good graphics from the original Supreme Commander and continues to impress the...

A Worthy Sequel!

Strengths: Great graphics; more units with better AI; new maps; useful tweaks to the user interface

Weakness: None

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance adds to the reputation that Supreme Commander has as the best RTS on the market today. Introducing a new alien race, the Seraphim, to the Supreme Commander universe, Forged Alliance greatly expands the playability of the original by adding new units and technologies that the player can control. Large experimental units, orbital weaponry, and suicide weapons make...

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Strengths: Great enemy AI forces the player to use tactics and think through your strategy.

Weakness: Hefty system requirements. Less integration between the different races than expected.

This standalone expansion pack to Supreme Commander continues where the original left off. Forced to band together to face a new threat, the three original factions from the first game are available to the player although there is alot less unit integration than one would think. In addition, the technology available to the player at first is limited, with the more powerful units given towards the...

Refinement to an already great game.

Strengths: Perhaps the most noticeable difference from original is the cleaned up and streamlined UI. There have also been numerous unit balancing changes. A new side, the Seraphim faction, has been added.

Weakness: If you do not have the original game installed, the Seraphim faction is the only available side for multiplayer matches (all sides available for single player skirmish).

Bottom line, if you’ve tried and liked the original game, you’ll probably love this. If you didn’t like the original, it unlikely this will change your mind. If you’ve not tried the original, I’d recommend you pick the expansion up first. While the campaign ramps up in difficulty faster, the improvements to the UI make for a more enjoyable experience.

Chock full of Supreme.

Strengths: Tons of new stuff.

Weakness: Not really much new to story or setting or major changes in gameplay styles.

Forged alliance is a good explansion. it adds new units, a new faction, more gameplay, and new campaign. everything you want in an expansion. The only thing lacking is that it doesn't really add much personality or advance a story much. Nor is gameplay radically changed or improved. But it has a ton of minor improvements as well as throws a bunch of new units so it does add to the game...

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Supreme Commander was released in February of this year and was critically acclaimed by many, but hated by other for its preposterous complexity and difficulty. To respond to complaints, Gas Powered Games has improved gameplay mechanics and simplified menus. They also kept the same three great factions Cybran, Aeon, and UEF, but has also added a new one called Seraphim. With more diversity...
