Eternal Sonata

Strengths: Great graphics, fun battle system

Weakness: None

Eternal Sonata is an excellent RPG with beautiful graphics, a wonderful soundtrack, and an unusually fun battle system that mixes both turn-based and real-time. The game features two-player co-op play and the tone and story are very unusual as the game takes place inside a fantasy world created inside Chopin's head. Overall, the game is an excellent RPG from beginning to end with likeable...

The first great RPG for the Xbox 360

Strengths: Fun storyline, great graphics, unique battle-system.

Weakness: A bit repetitive, not very difficult.

I was a bit nervous about picking up this game, but when I got it, my fears were squelched. Eternal Sonata mixes great graphics with a turn-based/real-time hybrid fighting system to create a deep, satisfying game. The characters are appealing and enjoyable. Really, the only minor annoyances with the game are that the battles do tend to get repetitive (like most RPG's). That, and it is pretty easy...

Eternal Sonata aka Trusty Bell

Strengths: unique rpg game play elements, clever storyline that is not afraid to differ from "normal" games, musical score

Weakness: Character development, certain plot points, somewhat repetitious

Overall the game was very impressive with some slight drawbacks based on overall level of polish, story telling or game play design. While certainly not an RPG classic, it is definitely recommended as a good "next gen" RPG and stands out especially on the xbox 360 where the number of RPGs available is limited (Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey being the only two that are better in this category). If...

Beautiful Easy to Play Japanese style RPG - just...

Strengths: Beautiful graphics/colors - great art style, unique battle system, interesting story, not too long or hard, minimal random battles

Weakness: Too easy for hardcore RPG players, backgrounds have so much detail but little interactivity, money too easy to come by

Eternal Sonata is a beautiful and fun game to play. The unique action turned based battle system is addictive and fun. It also lets you fully control each character unlike most of todays newer rpgs with realtime battles where you only control the main character. Once a turn is started you only have so much time to perform your actions which you directly control, you'll be slashing, blasting,...

Eternal Sonata

Strengths: Another excellent RPG for the 360 with a unique premise and beautiful HD graphics

Weakness: Fixed camera, very linear story and game is a bit too short

Eternal Sonata is an Xbox 360 role playing game (RPG) that is based on the life and music of Chopin. This makes for a unique premise for an RPG (and different than the usual amnesia-ridden young hero who saves the world plot). The game even turns out to be a bit educational while remaining entertaining. The battle system is semi-real time with the ability to move your characters and perform...

Who the heck is Chopin???

Strengths: Graphics, sound, music, gameplay.

Weakness: Character designs and story.

Eternal Sonata is a RPG for the XBOX 360. The game revolves around Chopin's life in the real world and life in the dream world. The game plays like a pseudo realtime/turnbased rpg game. However quickly you can push the button in the time allowed determines how many times you can hit. Then there are super combos that you can link from multiple characters later on in the game. The story is a little...

Namco Bandai Games Eternal Sonata

Strengths: Animation Battle System

Weakness: Linear Progression

This is probably my favorite RPG for the Xbox 360. The difference in the graphics is really refreshing when you compare the Japanese animation to something a more realistic western style like Oblivion. I also liked the battle system. It keeps things interesting by letting you actively perform that attacks that the characters make. The game does suffer from an extremely linear storyline, but it's...

Eternal Sonata (Xbox 360)

Strengths: Amazing storyline, great music and sounds, fantastic graphics, long story

Weakness: None apparent

Eternal Sonata is a great RPG for the Xbox 360. It has an extremely well-done storyline based on the last hours of Chopin's life, where he slips into a dreamworld of music, magic and monsters. The game looks fantastic, sounds even better, and is an extremely well-written, engrossing, long story. RPG fans must get this, as it's another of the small number of RPG's on the 360.

Almost edu-tainment

Strengths: Great cel-shaded art style; unique spin on story; involving battle mechanic

Weakness: Too much talking

Surprisingly, you'll actually learn a thing or two about the actual musician Chopin as you play this game which takes place during a dream sequence on his death bed. The graphics are beautifully cel-shaded. The battle mechanic is interesting in that each character has only a finite amount of time to act, and they must budget properly for positioning and actually executing attacks. Positioning is...

Finally a GOOD, no..GREAT RPG for the Xbox360?!

Strengths: Graphics are BEAUTIFUL. Combat is FUN. Storyline is interesting. FUN FUN FUN!

Weakness: The voice acting is kind of corny..but hey, whatever.

I'm not a huge fan of RPGs. Usually it's because I don't like to invest THAT much time into games. This is different. It's addicting and it's great fun. The storyline is very intriguing and you really do want to find out what happens next. The combat system is just a lot of fun, as it's not a typical "ATTACK" and wait for them to attack. You get to actually fight, which is great. You feel more...

Eternal Sonata

Eternal Sonata is the latest RPG from Tri-Crescendo, starring – of all potential heroes – Frederic Chopin. Yes, that Chopin – the Poet of the Piano, the famous composer who tragically died of tuberculosis aged only 39. The game takes place inside his last dream, as he slips into a coma on his deathbed. Here, he meets a young girl called Polka, who is also affected by a terminal illness. In...
