This is no Resident Evil 4

Strengths: Nice graphics

Weakness: Limited weapon selection; feel repetitive

Because of its over-the-shoulder view, this game had been compared with Resident Evil 4 even long before its release. This game was actually one of the first "next generation game" announced for PS3 and Xbox360, so there was initially fairly high anticipation. But that expectation is not fulfilled here, especially after its long development. This game feels much more like a shooter game. But...

3PS with a 'twist' - literally

Strengths: unique Glaive weapon, surprisingly decent graphics, fun gameplay

Weakness: unfortunate targetting system

I wasn't expecting much when I picked this up on the cheap for $10, but it's surprisingly good. The only real solid complaint I have is regarding the targetting system. Since the game is played in third person, the view over his shoulder lets you see (and target) people who can't see you. You end up blasting away, getting great headshots directly through walls. Other than this massive oversight,...

Dark HAX0R!

Strengths: Glaive is fun. Looks good. Lots of action.

Weakness: Story is Meh.

Dark Sector is a greta single player experience. There's plenty of action with a special glaive that is an awesome weapon. Take off heads, limbs, you name it. The story is bleh and the multiplayer is unsatisfying but it's definately worth picking up on the cheap ($15) or a rental.

Gears of War 0.5 for the PS3

Strengths: Good bargain price, Glaive weapon

Weakness: Control not as solid as Gears, sixaxis motion control still a gimick.

This game borrow a lot from Gears of War, the control and gameplay are very similar. However, the control is a little loose and the replay value is a bit on the low side due to only one difficulty. Overall, it's a pretty good game at the current low price. If you don't have a 360 and want Gears of War like gameplay on your PS3, this is as close as you can get.

Dark Sector Review

Strengths: The visuals are very nice, gameplay is fun and the audio works well.

Weakness: The story suffers from too many gaps and it's a bit short.

For under $20, this game is worth it. The single player experience is an exciting jont through dark corridors and towns. Weapon and ability upgrades help the overall feel of the game.

A great game to pick up on the cheap

Strengths: Good (not spectacular) graphics. The Glaive is a very fun weapon to use.

Weakness: A few minor frame rate issues. Motion-control to sensitive.

Now that Dark Sector is readily available for under $20, I'd highly recommend picking it up for that budget price. You'll definitely get your money's worth of fun from it at that price. Electrifying or flaming-up the Glaive and sending it towards your enemies just doesn't get old. My only real issue with it is the sixaxis implementation on the PS3, it is way to sensitive making the optional...

Game Delivers

Strengths: Graphics are great. Intense mood.

Weakness: Story line is weak.

Overall a good game with an interesting cover system. The game length is about 10 hours and the glaive is a cool weapon. I'd recommend this game to those that are waiting for Gears of War 2.

Dark Sector Review

Strengths: Story line, graphics, weapon upgrade

Weakness: hand to hand combat

I have really enjoyed this game. The graphics and game play are great. The only thing that could have used some work is the close combat. There are items like boxes that you can kick open but sometimes it is almost impossible to kick them. Over all though, I think it is a great game and worth buying.

Dark Sector

When it was announced a long while back before the anticipated release of the Xbox 360 or before gamers would get a glance at the PlayStation 3, Dark Sector looked like the type of game that would grab you by the throat just to get your attention. Of course, the trailer we saw was short but it looked mysterious and boy did it get this girl interested. So, now with the Xbox 360 and PS3 neatly...
