The Fifth has Come!

Strengths: Decent anime inspired graphics. Good traditional RPG

Weakness: Nothing revolutionary.

So if you loved the 4th game, you'll most likely like this as well. The Hex Battle System is back. That said, if you don't like the Hex Battle System, you won't be able to enjoy this. Still, this is a pretty good traditional RPG. It does nothing revolutionary, but it is a good example of a textbook RPG. For those who enjoy RPG's, you may want to check this out.

Wild ARMs 5

Strengths: Fun battle system, enjoyable characters, cameos from previous games

Weakness: No animated opening/ending like previous installments, cannot make use of different character abilities outside of battle

Even though its made quite a few changes to the formula, Wild ARMs 5 does a great job commemorating the 10th anniversary of the series. The game features the HEX Battle system from Wild ARMs 4 (probably the best change made to the series in recent installments). Wild ARMs 5 returns to a more western set Filgaia than the quasi-science fiction Filgaia of Wild ARMs 4. The games opening and ending...

Not the best in the series, but not the worst

Strengths: Fun. Interesting battle system. Inexpensive price. Nice soundtrack

Weakness: Bad graphics. Iffy A.I., not too long (30 hours)

Wild Arms are usually hit or miss. The 1st one is still considered a cult favorite, while the most recent ones have fallen short. WA5 delivers! Combat is fun, the game is quirky, stylish, and mixes dungeoun puzzles/adventure along with the random battles, so it never gets dull like most RPG's. The game also comes with an artbook, which is a great addiction to any long time fan of the series....

Wild Arms V

Strengths: hexagonal battle system, decent story, good characters

Weakness: n/a

As a huge fan of Wild Arms 4, I loved this game. It took the best parts and expanded on them. The story was decent, the character models are great, and I love the battle system. Plus, the limited edition first run packaging was really nice as well.

"I'm hungry!" - A Tale of Noodles, Guns, and Golems

Strengths: Decent voice acting, good number of cut scenes, unique battle system, beautiful artbook featuring art from the entire series thus far

Weakness: Confusing world map, lackluster backgrounds, no full motion videos

Note: I have not yet finished the game, so this review is based on my impressions after having owned the game for approximately two months and having played at least ten hours, if I remember correctly. ---------------------------------------... Plot: The story follows the adventures of Dean and his childhood friend Rebecca, and takes place on Filgaia, which is inhabited by humans and Veruni, the...

Better than 3

Strengths: Improved combat, solid value

Weakness: Stroy is quite weak, characters and dialogue uninteresting, encounter rate.

Wild Arms 5 is a rather unforgettable experience. What bothered me the most was the high enemy encounter rate. It killed my experience in 3 to the point I abandoned the game. Fortunately the combat system here makes the game more fun to play. However, I could not connect to the characters at all and the plot of the game was very bland. The art direction is decent, as is the music and the overall...

WILD ARMS 5

Celebrating the series 10th anniversary since its U.S. release in 1997, Wild Arms 5 is now available in stores nationwide. The series has had an errant run with ups and downs that were unpredictable. The first Wild Arms I enjoyed full-heartedly while the second let me down in terms of delivering what was promised. Wild Arms 3 changed up the gameplay mechanics, but outside of that, it didn’t...
