It's not that bad!

Strengths: The magical elements DO help make it more then just another FPS. Yes, it's like Counter-Strike, but it's Counter-Strike with magical elements.

Weakness: It's an online only game. That's weak. There's 6 offline training missions, but everything else is solely done online.

If online FPS are your thing, you'll like this. If you enjoyed Counter-Strike, you'll like this. It's not a bad game, but it's not really anything impressive. The magical elements DO add uniqueness to the game, but again.. nothing to be solely impressed by. The lack of a campaign/offline mode really sucks.

Shadowrun Just For Fun!

Strengths: Spells & Tecs, Play With Windows Vista Users

Weakness: No Single Player, Could Have Used More Maps

Shadowrun takes place in the Shadowrun universe but is really just a multiplayer game and does little to nothing to add storywise to the Shadowrun universe. You will be able to play on one of two different teams and will be able to buy different magic spells & tecs in order to give your character special abilities. The game itself is very much like counter strike with a small twist thrown in with...

Shadowrun (Xbox 360)

Strengths: Magic adds in tactical elements, decent gameplay

Weakness: Online-only game, barely any online players

Shadowrun is a tactical action shooter set in a futuristic environment with magic and weapons. The magic adds in some interesting elements, such as flying, teleportation and healing, though with that stripped away, it's a decent tactical shooter. Unfortunately, the game is online only and there's barely anyone playing it anymore. Without people you know with the game, there's not much gameplay to...

Shadowrun Should Stay in the Shadows

Strengths: Online play can be fun at times. You can play with computer users as well as XBOX 360 users. Magical elements add a good dimension to gameplay.

Weakness: DO NOT GET THIS GAME IF YOU DO NOT HAVE OR PLAN TO HAVE AN XBOX LIVE GOLD ACCOUNT. Without the account, you'll be left playing some training missions and cursing the fact that you bought the game.

Luckily, I had a trial membership to XBOX Live Gold when I got the game. It's got decent online gameplay, but there are a lot better games out there. This game essentially suffers from a Catch-22. If you have an XBOX Live Gold account, you would be better served playing the dozens of superior online-oriented games. If you don't have an XBOX Live Gold account, then this game is essentially...

Shadowrun [of-the-mill] (resubmitted review from...

Strengths: The use of magic as a part of gameplay manages to separate it somewhat from other First Person Shooters.

Weakness: The vast majority of the game can only be enjoyed via an XBOX LIVE Gold membership.

I was initially excited for this game when it was first announced and development for it began. I always thought the 'Shadowrun' franchise was in need of a revival, but Fasa Studio and Microsoft did a pretty poor job of making this a fun, replayable game that was true to its roots. Shadowrun pulls some elements from the old role playing game (such as different character classes, futuristic...

More like Shadow-walk.

Strengths: It's a decent multiplayer FPS.

Weakness: It's just a decent multiplayer FPS.

Shadowrun is an okay game. But in a world full of online shooters, that isn't good enough. The graphics are okay, magic is a nice touch, the gameplay is fine. But there's nothing really spiffy or stands out. If you're looking for a online FPS, try some of the other games in the offering like RB6 Vegas or Gears or Halo 3. But if you like the setting of Shadowrun and want to give another shooter a...

Would have been fun 6 months ago

Strengths: Requires some strategy in selecting character class, weapons, tech and magic

Weakness: Cannot compete with more recent shooters released on the XBOX 360

Initially, I really enjoyed the game; however, given the releases of Halo 3, The orange box and Call of Duty 4, I just am no longer interested in playing Shadowrun. It is not that Shadowrun is a bad game, its just not as much fun for me as these more recent shooters. I always struggled with the gameplay, which seemed a little overly-complicated with all the various options. Maybe I just like my...

Shadowrun

The original Xbox was known as the shooter console with several high-profile first-person shooters being released for the console. The 360 is shaping up to be the same with even more impressive first-person shooters. One game that came out of left field was Shadowrun. The entire Sci-Fi/Fantasy Role-playing setting of the series was being shoved into a first-person shooter. Some fans cried outrage...
