Great vocabulary builder

Strengths: inovative, easy to use, educational, fun to play even for adults

Weakness: few design flaws, for example picking very small letters from a pasta soup could be quite challenging.

Three levels of difficulty are available, and the this game includes a built-in dictionary of over 17,000 words. When you play My Word Coach, it assesses, monitors, and rewards your verbal-Expression Potential, It scores your ability to actually understand, command and express the English language effectively. The higher your number out of a possible 100%, the better you are able to express,...

Fairly innovative, but lacking as an educational tool

Strengths: Surprisingly entertaining, educational, easy to use, glossary available

Weakness: No review option

"My Word Coach" is one among Ubisoft's language learning games Players spend approximately twenty to thirty minutes playing mini games to meet a daily objective of 150 words. The more games you play, the higher your EP or Expression Potential gets. If you're at the level of an Elementary School Student, have no fear. Word Coach is here! And for the more language-inclined player who boasts an...

Wordy... Wordy...

Strengths: Great to improve vocabulary Great mini games

Weakness: Spelling mistakes can cause you issues

My Word Coach is great to improve your vocabulary, but I don't like the fact that once you hit the limit for the day, they tell you log off. If you keep playing, they say you will not gain more knowledge. The problem with that is that you may know some of the words already and you do want the challenge of learning more for that day. The higher level of some of the games are great, but the pasta...

Edutainment for the English-speaking masses. . .

Strengths: Build your vocabulary, 16K words, based on Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary, better than Wii port at a cheaper price

Weakness: Not really a game, not for young children, not fun for kids, lackluster audio/graphics

With the relative success of the Nintendo's Big Brain Academy and Brain Age series, one might expect other publishers to start putting out titles with a bent toward learning, and Ubisoft tries its hand at expanding our vocabulary with My Word Coach. You'll definitely learn some new words with it, but will you have any fun doing this? With the now genre standard 15-30 minute daily training...

My Word Coach for DS

Strengths: easy to learn even for inexperienced gamers, built in glossary

Weakness: some difficulty with handwriting recognition, only 3 user accounts allowed, rated E but must be able to read

My Word Coach is simple to learn, easy to use and fairly fun. I rated it 5 stars because it is educational at all levels, from my 7 year old on up. My 7 year old is not only increasing her reading level, but also improving her spelling skills by playing. My 14 year old daughter is increasing her vocabulary and fine-tuning her spelling. The first game you learn is Missing Letter - a word is...

Nintendo DS My Word Coach Game

Strengths: Very challenging, addicting!

Weakness: For older children and adults

I ordered this for my 8 year old, however, when we tried it, it was just too hard for her. So, I played with it and found it very challenging and fun! I love the variety of options for word challenges, I keep unlocking new ones! I find it very addicting and will really enjoy this one.

Word coach DS

Strengths: Educational

Weakness: n/a

We have this game for a couple days - and so far - so good! This is not a game for long hours to play - but she used the game at least half a dozen times - so I assume this works like a dictionary with a fun to use features! Can't say - I have heard anything new - but I can see this game interests a 9 year old!

Educational, but not much fun

Strengths: Educational, vocabulary building

Weakness: Not fun to play

I was very excited to get this game, but it was a little bit of dissapointment. You can improve your vocabulary playing it, but it is probably as much fun as doing one of those SAT's practice test. Needs to be more entertaining!

An educational game.

Strengths: Good vocabulary builder.

Weakness: Not a fun game.

I bought this and Flash Focus games for my 8 years old son. He likes to play Flash Focus more than My word Coach. He said,"this is not a fun game". Well,It's a nice game, but it's not very fun and exciting game not nearly as entertaining as either of the Brain Age games. I would like to recommend for who likes to learn.

My Word Coach

This review covers My Word Coach as well as My Spanish Coach and My French Coach Many times when you see a game hit the market that aims to teach the purchaser a thing or two about education, the only thing the customer winds up learning is not to buy a videogame so irrationally ever again. Luckily for the poorly educated gamers out there, Ubisoft has taken it upon themselves to create a gaming...
