Awesome adventure game

Strengths: amazing art design, cool story, classic point-n-click adventure gameplay, memorable characters

Weakness: slooow text speed, infrequent puzzles

Hotel Dusk is a DS twist on the classic PC adventure game genre where you gather items and look for clues in order to solve puzzles and advance the story. The puzzles tend to be a bit easy but make great use of the DS' unique features. The art direction is amazing; all of the characters look and move like they are pencil shaded drawings and it really adds a unique element to the detective story....

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (Nintendo DS)

Strengths: Amazing graphics, well-written story, feels like a murder mystery, good use of the DS

Weakness: No voice acting, lots of reading

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is the story of Kyle, a private eye who was thrown off the police force. He comes to Hotel Dusk to look into his past, and finds some very odd things. The game's rendered in a book-illustration format, with great graphics. It has the DS turned on its side, so it appears that it's a murder mystery being read instead of a game. With the first-person perspective, it's controlled...

Hotel Dusk won't be collecting dust anytime soon

Strengths: Using the stylus to navigate through the rooms is easy. The graphics are amazing.

Weakness: I have not found any weaknesses.

The majority of the gameplay revolves around dialogue, but the story is frequently punctuated with puzzles and time spent exploring the hotel. Hotel Dusk keeps you on your toes at all times. Ask the maid too many suspicious questions and she'll think you're a reporter, toss you out on the street, and it's Game Over for you. The graphics are flat-out amazing. None of the people you meet at Hotel...

Unique mystery game

Strengths: Cool noir atmosphere; unique gameplay; sharp details

Weakness: Can be slow at times

Hotel Dusk Room 215 is unlike any other game out there. It's an interesting noir-style mystery game that you set out to solve as the detective. It's played like you're reading a book with the DS on its side. With its sharp visuals, excellent dialogue, and unique gameplay elements, it makes for a very rewarding gaming experience.

Come for the hospitality, stay for the fun.

Strengths: Good story. Unique interface/controls. Fun characters.

Weakness: A little cliche in story.

Hotel dusk is a great mystery adventure game. It has some interesting characters, a neat story, and a fun enviroment to explore. One thing I want to highlight is the interface. First, you hold the DS like a book, using the touch pad to move around on an overhead view and the left screen to look at your surroundings. There's a little notepad to write notes using the touchscreen, you cna loolk at...

Awesome adventure game for the DS

Strengths: Perfectly uses the DS; amazing graphics; very moody game (in a good way); very unique experience

Weakness: Sometimes the UI can be a bit clunky, or too many flips through too many pages for not a lot of dialog, but it's minor.

This game is really amazing, but at the same time, isn't for everyone. Hotel Dusk is an adventure game for the DS that tries to bring the atmosphere of detective books and movies into a game, and for the most part, absolutely succeeds. The graphics are mostly hand drawn (with some 3D models added when necessary) and beautiful. It is at its heart a point-and-click adventure game, as many have...

Hotel Dusk

Strengths: retro feel, unique "look"

Weakness: can be slow action-wise at times

Hotel Dusk reminds me a bit of the old school, point and click adventures. It’s really a mystery novel with some interactive elements. So far, it’s an engrossing story where you’re a detective trying to find stuff, but find that there is a bigger story is related to the main character’s past (not spoiling it here). The gameplay isn’t too difficult and it’s really text heavy. It really...

Hotel Dusk Room 215

Strengths: Unique interactive adventure-mystery game for the DS

Weakness: Do not play if you don't like lots of reading

Hotel Dusk can best be described as an interactive mystery novel. It also harkens back to the glory days of point and click PC adventure games (thanks to the DS stylus). If you are fond of either of those genres, then this is a great pick-up for the DS. This is a game that would fail utterly on a home console system (played on your TV) but is perfect for travel or just kicking back in a chair and...

Great game

Strengths: Stylish graphics, interesting story, fun puzzles (several are console-specific). A lot of fun to play.

Weakness: Too few puzzles, puzzles are too easy, game is very linear (you cannot progress at all until you do something the game wants you to do)

This game gets you right from the beginning: you have to hold the console sideways. From there, the art/animation style is very appealing. I kind of dislike the 3D scenes (happens every time you enter a new room) - but these are not very frequent and only happen once per room. To me, this game achieves the following goal: it simulates the experience of reading a book, while making the experience...

Stay for a night at Hotel Dusk!

Strengths: Great Characters and a story you can get into, some good dialog, some clever puzzles

Weakness: some puzzles that are not so clever and some that are poorly responsive even when you know what to do with them.

This game is a great point and click adventure game! I was really into discovering things about the story and characters. You play as a ex-police officer who comes to the hotel on buisness but starts investigating the mysteries of the Hotel and its guests. It plays alot like the game "Trace Memory" if you've played that. Basicly you move around the hotel and interview people and find objects to...

Hotel Dusk: Room 215

Point-and-click adventure games peaked, both in terms of quality and amount being produced, in the early nineties. The heyday of the genre produced memorable adventures that are still worth playing through; Curse of Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and Sam and Max Hit The Road are among the most fondly-remembered games of all time. Although the genre has lost popularity on its home platform, the PC,...
