A solid, entertaining rpg that offers a different...

Strengths: Great graphics and sound

Weakness: Maybe too easy, and a lot of reading

Tonelico isn't really a dating sim, in that it focuses less on romance and more on relationships. There is a lot of conversations and the act of "diving" into each girl's subconscious is a unique way of leveling up. Rather than grinding, you talk. Which is ok, except there needed to be better proofreading. And the final ending after all this talking seems a bit of a letdown. The combat system is...

Ar Tonelico

Strengths: Pretty RPG, Fun, Sort of easy, NIS title, nice character designs

Weakness: Story could be a little better

This here is your average RPG from NIS. Like most NIS games, the character designs are pretty and the game provides hours of game play. However, I felt the story could be improved upon. Overall, not that bad of a game.

Coolest rpg with music

Strengths: Great story and rpg contents

Weakness: some weak difficulty

This game has quite good soundtrack and great animations. The battle system is kind of innovative in the sense of gathering enough points to do a special attack. Besides the game has very good looking graphics and magic attacks looks beautiful. Except the game requires a lot of reading. But overall the game is good for every person who is into RPG games.

Saved by Magic

Strengths: Interseting combat system.

Weakness: Average in everything else.

Ar Tonelico is a slightly above average RPG, but it could have been a very bad one if not for one saving grace. The magic system. My review is just going to go over this because it's the only thing that makes the game interesting. When you cast a spell, in effect, you character builds up energy outside the sequence of normal turns and initiatives. And at any time you can unleash the magic, even...

Ar Tonelico

Strengths: Sidequests, dating aspects, alchemy system

Weakness: Just an average RPG

Ar Tonelico is a barely above average RPG. It's better than your plain jane RPG's, but could still use a little help. The non-traditional RPG aspects (alchemy, dating sim, etc.) add a new layer to the experience, but unfortunately they do not cover up the misgivings of the core game. The story is typical of a Japanese based RPG and brings very little to the table that isn't just fluff. Overall,...

Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia

Strengths: Graphics, gameplay, deluxe packaging

Weakness: N/A

Ar tonelico: Melody of Elemia is a RPG game from GUST released by NIS America. It is typical of GUST games (the maker of the Atelier Iris series), which has a lot of look and feel of an old school RPG. The gameplay is similar to other GUST games. However, the alchemy system is very much watered down, but still functional per se. The cliche part is the date-sim aspect the game. You need to work on...

Ar Tonelico

Strengths: Great art and music, multiple endings, fun battle system, comes with sound track and artbook.

Weakness: No challenge, the alchemy system is watered down from other Gust games, no newgame+.

Like all of Gust's games, you will like this game if you are fan of old school RPGs. It also through in some elements of the dating sim genre that you will either love or hate.

Pretty and Pretty Easy

Strengths: Nice artistic look, excellent soundtrack, fun characters

Weakness: WAY TOO EASY, storyline and interactions are a bit oddball at times

A very convential Japanese RPG experience, with some unique (and minimal) dating-sim aspects. Its somewhat similar to the underappreciated PS1 game Thousand Arms. The best part of the game is the item creation system, which is very reminiscent of the Atelier Iris games from Gust (the graphics are also similar to those games). The dating-sim aspect needs a lot of work, as there is basically no...

Ar Tornelico

Strengths: Great graphics, excellent RPG gameplay, comes with nice package

Weakness: None

Another late bloomer on the playstation 2, this is a great RPG to keep your systems running. The storyline is engaging and the graphics are also great. The games comes packed with an artbook which features some of the great graphics and only enhances the value of the set. Overall, a must have!

Ar Tonelico

Strengths: Nice character art, good story, good battle system

Weakness: "multiple" endings are weak

This game is pretty unique. It has terrific character art, a great story, and a good battle system. I enjoy doing tons of damage straight from the beginning. The art book and box that come with the game are high quality. This game is made by the same people as the Atelier Iris series and the graphical style is the same. Overall, this is a great game.

Ar tonelico Melody of Elemia

Stop me if you heard this one: a young hero is chosen to find an ancient artifact that can be used to save the world and along the way he is joined by a number of quirky characters and there is, of course, the love interest whose fate is intertwined with yours. Yes, when it comes to role-playing games we’ve seen and done it all and while there are some exceptions to the tired RPG themes none...
