Product Details of Genji: Days of the Blade

Description

Developed by SCEA, Genji: Days of the Blade takes you to feudal China where you can fight on foot or on horseback. Based on the PlayStation 2 game Genji, and set three years after the last chapter of Genkuro Yoshitsune's life, Genji 2 (working title) continues to expand on the historical accounts of feudal Japan. In gameplay, Genji 2 is presented as a "traditional" action/adventure gaming experience and features more than double the amount of gameplay than its predecessor. Gameplay in Genji 2 includes more diverse levels of fighting, and more playable characters - all underlying an epic tale of a warrior's honor that promises to deliver a genuine experience on PLAYSTATION 3.

Genji for PS3

Strengths: Good graphics, unique "Japanese Warlord" feel, if you love "Onimusha" of PS2 then you should try this game.

Weakness: Cannot change view point, which makes it very difficult to control at times. Long in between check points.

This game is similar to the PS2 game "Onimusha", where you progress though killing enemies and solving puzzles, and repeat until you beat the last big boss. It is good you have an option of 4 characters to chose from, and each has his/her own abilities, but this is also a bad things since it will make you wonder which one should you chose in order to beat some of the boss in the games, since if...

genji

Strengths: great graphics, 3 different characters to choose from

Weakness: save system, repetitive

This game is the sequel to Genji: Dawn of the Samurai that was available on the PS2. I never played that game and decided to pick this game up to expand my library of Sony exclusives. I must say that the graphics look good for a launch title. The game is your typical hack-n-slash, kill bad guys, solve puzzle, rinse and repeat. Being able to choose from 4 different characters changes the game up a...

Genji - oriental game story

Strengths: Different story game and action based on oriental ancient story and battle.

Weakness: Difficult camera angles

Fantastic scenes and details. Good characters and environment design. Definitively is not the best PS3 game created, but is a different story game. The decision to buy this game was the price - $20 in Walmart.

Genji

Strengths: Great Graphics and story

Weakness: Camera angles

Genji is an entertaining game in the same vein of the Onimusha series. It takes some aspects of Japanese history and myth to give a gamer a fun, but repetitive experience. This is the first PS3 game I bought, but I have to say I am pretty happy with it. I did pick up the game at a low price point (think greatest hits), so for me the value outweighed the cost of the game. The camera angles can get...

Fantasic Graphics/Mediocre Gameplay

Strengths: Beautiful Graphics (Great Highlight For The PS3), Giant Enemy Crabs!, Authentic Ancient Japanese Feel

Weakness: Hack-and-Slash is only where it's at, Fixed Camera Angle

Genji: Days of the Blade was one of the first PS3 titles available for the system. Sony wanted to highlight the "power" of the system by doing some extra polishing on the console graphics, which I consider outstanding. The environment is colorful and fully immerse yourself in ancient Japan and the title itself can be used as a showcase for your HDTV. Graphics aside though, the gameplay on this...

Genji: Days of the Blade

Strengths: Great graphics and art direction.

Weakness: Camera views can work against you with bad angles.

The majority of the game has you hacking and slashing through its feudal setting. This leads to some pretty average, but fun action thanks to the good controls and steady pace. There's a good mix of boss fights to help change things up and should satisfy fans of the action genre. Just don't expect an epic adventure as the story leaves something to be desired.

Genji PS3

Strengths: Cool graphics, good controls, nice fighting

Weakness: Not 1080P

Genji is a nice game for the PS3. It does involve a lot of button mashing, but it's very fun. You are able to play with 3 different characters, each has their own strengths and weaknesses. The gameplay does get slightly repetitive. Graphics and colors are amazing. The game is very similar to Onimusha on the PS2. If you liked Onimusha you must get Genji.

Genji: Days of the Blade

Strengths: Lovely graphics with lush environments, intuitive controls

Weakness: Horrible, horrible camera angles

I have been a fan of Genji since I first played the PS2 game, so when Genji: Days of the Blade came out for PS3 I immediately got it. Visually, this is a great game. Beautiful graphics, nice environments, and engaging characters and plot abound. Where Genji: Days of the Blade really fails is the camera angles. These might be some of the worst angles I have seen in a while and they drove me...

Genji

Strengths: The graphics are amazing from the lushes grass outdoors, from the waters, to the detailed buildings. Satisfying combo's and playing with 4 different characters.

Weakness: Horrible camera views. The cut scenes are unusually excessive, which really gets annoying after a while.

Gameplay is awesome; the protagonists' moves are brilliant, with sweet combos. The storyline itself makes sense to give the player the feel of the story's purpose, and the reason behind investing hours of playing this game. The option to play with 4 different players (with diff. strengths etc.) is also a nice addition. The minimap on the top right of the screen is very intrusive. At some times,...
