Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: 2 games in one package, excellent graphics

Weakness: Fighting system far from 'ultimate'

I enjoyed DOA 3 when it was first released for XBOX and when I found a deal on this package I decided it should be worth it. DOA Ultimate contains the Sega Saturn version of DOA I and a remake of DOA II. The first DOA is pretty much for fans only but the remake of part 2 looks nice with it's revamped graphics. Gameplay wise I couldn't take either of these titles seriously. The competition I...

The Ultimate Dead Or Alive

Strengths: Amazing visuals, easy to pick up and play, lots of unlockables, online play

Weakness: It's a remake and not a entirely new game

I've always been a fan of the Dead Or Alive series, so it was a no-brainer that I would pick up Dead Or Alive Ultimate. The package is basically are graphically enhanced Dead Or Alive 2 and a port of the original Dead Or Alive. Both games can be played online, but you're not going to find many people playing the port of the original. The graphics in this game are absolutely beautiful. Team Ninja...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: Tons of unlockable outfits, graphics, online play.

Weakness: Since this a remake of DOA2, some characters have lost moves that they gained in DOA3.

Like other DOA's you either like it or you hate it. DOA2 still seems to be the best in the series to me and it's nice to see a remake of it. The fighting engine has not changed too much from the original DOA2. Sidesteps no longer have to be done with the analog thankfully. The graphics have been given a major facelift. It's ironic that DOA2 now looks better than DOA3. Like any other DOA, this one...

DOA is back

Strengths: great graphics, arcade mode in live

Weakness: missing characters from DoA3

Dead or Alive Ultimate incles a port of the first DoA and a remake of DoA2 with the engine of DoAV. The first DoA has the same gameplay and certainly showed its age. The second DoA got a major graphic update and easily has some of the graphic on Xbox. The online mode is also great, with a very aracde feel since you could look at other people fight. My only complain is that it is missing the new...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: Gorgeous graphics, brilliant online setup, lots to unlock, great fighting arenas.

Weakness: Not much new, simplistic fight mechanics, not as deep as other fighting games.

The Dead or Alive series is probably known more for their bouncy assets then the deep play mechanics. But there's still no questioning what a incredibly fun game this is. I love the backgrounds in this game. Not only are there multiple areas to fall or get thrown into, but they are quite interactive too (whether that be a power line or even an elephant). The graphics are drop dead gorgeous. Tecmo...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: nice package with a good value (2 games for the price of one), great graphics

Weakness: not as deep as other fighters

Dead or Alive is a solid fighting series that just never gets to the level of Street Fighter and Virtua Fighter. It is still a solid series though and this package is no exception. In Dead or Alive Ultimate you get 2 games for the price of one and get to take them online to boot! While I have not played online, this is a nice addition to the single player and offline multiplayer game modes....

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: beautiful graphics in DOA2 (the second disk). Fighting system is good, easy to get into, hard to master, online fighting.

Weakness: rough graphics in DOA1, tired of it quickly

I really enjoyed this game for a few hours. But then I got tired of it because it felt very repetitive. I don't think I ever quite got to the point where I knew what I was doing in the fights, I'd just press punch and kick until something happened. The graphics are fantastic in the second disk, the first disk just looks like a psone game. I'm not a big fighting game fan but I like virtua fighter...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: A good package of extras, Live enabled.

Weakness: Not considered one of the elite 3d fighters.

Most of the other reviews have written about the game itself, so to oversimplify, if you liked any of the other DOAs, or have been on the fence and want a Live fighter, this is definitely worth it. It is great of Tecmo to include the 1st DOA, but 3d fighter's do not age well. Having owned the original Saturn version, I spent less than half an hour, and probably will not pick it up again. The meat...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: Great graphics on two older versions and the xbox live rocks.

Weakness: Two older versions, were is DOA 4.

I enjoy fighting games and too me this game is the best fighter on the xbox. The graphics are the best on the system, sound is good, gameplay is nice and fluid. The xbox live of the game is where is at, it creates a arcade feel on you own place. You can watch other oppponets play and then you can challenge the winner. Its a fun game and even if you have DOA 3 this is totally different not to...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

Strengths: Perhaps the best looking 3D fighting game ever made, the best version of Dreamcast and PS2 hit Dead or Alive 2, online capabilities, includes port of the original Saturn Dead or Alive

Weakness: Not as complex as Virtua Fighter, could have used even more extras, new/updated port of an old game, stereotypical female eye candy

If you've ever enjoyed any of Tecmo's Dead or Alive series of fighting games through the years, this is definitely the version you need to own. Rebuilt for Xbox using the Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball engine, Dead or Alive Ultimate features all of the original content from the Dreamcast Dead or Alive 2 and the new content from the PS2 Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore as well as a number of...

Dead or Alive Ultimate

After months of waiting and a couple delays, Dead or Alive Ultimate has finally arrived for the Xbox, and I can say without any hesitation that it was definitely worth the wait. For the first time ever, all three games in the Dead or Alive series are playable on one system, and it is a nice treat for Team Ninja to do that for its fans. This game is one of the best fighting games around and you...
