Sonic Heroes

Strengths: + Nostalgic factor + New Sonic game for PS2

Weakness: - Same levels for all teams - The Gamecube and XBox version look better and play smoother - Harder to control in 3D than in the old 2D games

Sonic just can't break through the 3D barrier. While Sonic's speed was it's advantage in the 2D games, in Sonic Heroes it's just too easy to dash off cliffs. Sonic Heroes introduces new gameplay in the Sonic Series by having you control teams rather than individuals. Sonic, tails, and knuckles make up one team and at any time you want you can switch to control one of the 3 characters while the...

Sonic Heroes

Strengths: Exciting Levels Awesome Level and Character Intoductions Lots and Lots of Levels

Weakness: 3-Character Mode is Permanent

This is a great Sonic the Hedgehog game. The only downside to this game is that the 3-Character mode is always on - by that I mean to say, that there are 3 characters that are always on the screen, and you can change the characters with the R1 button. This can get a little annoying - any game improvement for Sonic Heroes must definately allow for 1-Character mode. Otherwise, this game is awesome.

Sonic Heroes

Strengths: Fast paced action

Weakness: Too difficult to control

Sonic Heroes is a title that would be picked up by most anyone who has played a Sonic title in the past (Sega Genesis). Unfortunately, it does not have the same feel and excitement as the original titles did. The game is 3-dimensional now (instead of the side scrolling action) and this makes controlling Sonic and his friends much harder. If you can get used to controlling the mayhem, then you...

To be a Hero

Strengths: Nice gameplay in 3D

Weakness: Not so sure the 4 teams were necessary

It was a nice idea to throw 4 teams of 3 characters each into this game, but even with all the additional characters included, the game levels remain the same for every team in single player mode. In 2 player mode you will be able to use the multiple characters to race against each other; however, you only get to start with Action race mode. To unlock more modes you will need to collect 20...

Quick and difficult

Strengths: Fast gameplay and cool characters

Weakness: Fast gameplay

How can fast gameplay be a strength and a weakness? It goes along with the overall sonic theme and definitely fits in with what Sonic has always been. On the other hand, since the game is 3d, it seems overly difficult to line up at critical moments and sometimes I wound up overshooting or undershooting several times. Overall it is a pretty fun game, but it seems a little difficult to me. The...

The little blue hedgehog is back

Strengths: Sonic rocks, he's got buddies

Weakness: Sonic wasn't meant to be 3D

I must admit I love Sonic. I played it all the time on Sega. When it came out for the PS2, I had to get it. Now that I've played it through, I'm happy... somewhat. It was a lot more tedious playing it on PS2 than on Sega. The addition of a third dimension makes the game a lot harder to control and takes some of the fun out of just dashing around like a lunatic. Other than that, it was a blast....

Sonic Heroes

Sonic's been around so much longer than Sony's console that, on first load, it's both a surprise and a pleasure to see the old 'hog light up the PS2. It's a sight that bridges two console generations, and for a moment it's almost as if the March of the Console was a smooth hike instead of a long-fought war. Too bad, then, that the new adventure of the Blue Bomber brings along other 16-bit baggage...

Sonic Heroes

Sonic The Hedgehog is one of the most endearing characters of the console-platform generation. He has a long storied past; starting back in the 16-bit days of the Genesis platform; but the question was would our intrepid blue hero be able to handle the graphical pressures of the modern gaming-platform world. Sonic Heroes is the answer to that very question. Sega and Sonic Team have combined...

Sonic Heroes

Sonic the Hedgehog, like Nintendo's fat, Italian plumber, has been around forever. He blasted through loops and sped through corkscrews on Sega's 16-bit Genesis console and has delighted hordes of fans ever since. But not everybody's been happy with the mascot's transition to 3D. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for Dreamcast proved to be fast and pretty, but also lacked polish. Drawbacks included play...
