Basic terrorists/spy action 1st person shooter puts...

Strengths: Nuts-and-bolts first person action with good weapons. Plenty of action. Some enviornment/object interactivity challenges. Better than average voice acting. Effective cutscenes.

Weakness: Gritty violence a bit strong for younger players. Interactivity with environments could have been deeper. No real innovation as shooters go.

Bought this game without knowing anything about it. Ultimately was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the gameplay. Haven't tried out the online component but, from what I've read, it's decent. Good weapon models, surprisingly graphic violence, nicely done cutscenes and well-paced action all earn this game a solid B+ in my book.

Cold Winter

Strengths: Gameplay, online play

Weakness: Graphics

Cold Winter is another First Person Shooter game. The graphics of this game is pretty bad. It is just out dated. There is rag doll physics, which is nice. The online play extends the game, which makes it fun. The gameplay is pretty good. If you like FPS, you can try this game out.

Serves its Purpose

Strengths: It has an interesting story. The game has some level/surroundings interaction and the rag doll physics is fun to watch.

Weakness: The graphics are just passable. The game is also over pretty quick.

Cold Winter is fun while it lasts. Good for a rental if you're a fan of first person shooters or as a budget title to keep you busy between releases. The voicework and dialogue work well together to make the story interesting. There's some interaction with the environments like flipping over tables to use as cover but it doesn't get any deeper. Cold Winter's greatest weakness is in the graphics....

Another rent-by-the-night FPS shooter

Strengths: fast, quick, easy

Weakness: too easy, too short

This is another renter for the FPS fans out there. It is short and sweet, lacking the depth of the king of FPS out there. So, do yourself a favor and rent this rather than buy it, and save yourself $30. The graphics is nice, the storyline is okay, the action is quick and packed, but the depth is missing.

No frills, but some thrills

Strengths: Gameplay is fun, good story, interactive environments

Weakness: Graphics not the best, about 10 hours long

Straigtforward but enjoyable, Cold Winter is a first-person shooter whose storyline revolves around spies, terrorists, and nuclear weapons. Each level has a series of objectives, and due to some onscreen help, you'll never get lost. Most of the game is average, but the voice work is good, and the game moves along at a decent speed.

Cold Winter

Strengths: Gameplay, Controls, Gameplay, Weapons

Weakness: Originality, Graphics

If you enjoy the SPY genre, 007 and others, then you will love this game. The game has you playing a secret agent, Andrew Sterling, but the kicker is you are not the typical suave agent. The game opens with you being interrogated/tortured and having your face disfigured and transitions smoothly into what becomes a well put together title. The graphics look like a first gen PS2 title. With tons of...

Basic shooter

Strengths: Rag Doll Physics, lots of weapons.

Weakness: No outstanding features.

For a first person shooter game, Cold Winter is very generic and does not do anything new, beyond some physics simulation and effects. The game does have good enemy AI and the story is fairly good too, however the graphics and level design are basic. The game does offer on line multiplayer but most players will be playing other, more innovative, titles. This should be a budget title.

cold winter

Strengths: online play is fun and fast paced.

Weakness: dated graphics and online maps could be larger.

This game is still fun even if the graphics are dated.Weapon selections are great.I wish the online crowd was larger because I get tired of playing Socom.Great game for the bargain basement price.

Cold Winter (PS2)

Strengths: Weapon variety, online play

Weakness: Passable graphics, doesn't stand out much

Cold Winter for the PS2 is a spy-story driven FPS. There are a number of environments to operate in, with a decently wide variety of weapons to pick from. The gameplay goes to single player to online multiplayer. Graphics are okay, though not up to the PS2's normal standards, and there just isn't much to make it stand out among other FPS games. Cold Winter is a decent game, though not a standout...

Cold Winter (PS2

Strengths: online play

Weakness: graphics are lacking

Decent First Person shooter with seven environments. There are lots of weapons to choose from and you can create your own using things you pick up. There is good AI. You can achieve your missions using different routes.

Cold Winter

Chinese New Year’s and the last night on Earth for Andrew Sterling. At least, that is the plan on the part of the Chinese who arrested him and are holding him at Chang Prison, a hole in the planet that none leave alive. However, there are others who have plans and that means requiring someone of Sterling’s abilities to see them through. Abilities? But wasn’t he an innocent man accused of...

Cold Winter

Boy, Cold Winter is terribly brown and boxy. We think we'll just pass on this one and pick up a copy of Rogue Agent, which seems far more color-- Hey now! There's a known murderer in a pink bikini! Let's see if we can't get us a date for tonight.
