Ape Escape Academy

Strengths: graphics, funny monkeys

Weakness: lack of humor, just not fun overall

Started playing this title a bit and it didn’t really keep my interest very long. It seems to have tried to duplicate the WarioWare mini-game style, but didn’t do it very well. The minigames are too easy and not terribly fun or varied. The sports based games are to simplistic and it only turns into a single button mashing affair. Once innovative franchise reduced to generic...

Strengths: Plenty of cute little apes, 40+ mini-games, vibrant visual style

Weakness: Generic game play, load times between mini-games, limited replay value, short overall length

The Ape Escape series began on the PSone with a highly innovative control scheme using the dual shock controller. Unfortunately, you don't have that on the PSP, so we'll have to look for excitement in other places.
