I really had a hard time in the beginning with jagged edges it left in my hair...it heats up so fast that you cannot hesitate when you roll your hair. But of course, like everything else, with practice it turned out to be a nice iron.

This is rated very high on some sites. Since the warranty is only valid through salons, I can only think that the salons must be "stuffing the votes" on this item. Chi iron

Strengths: heats up fast

I have owned the same Chi iron for several years and purchased this one for my daughter. We both love this straightener! It heats up very fast and not only straightens your hair but can make other styles as well.

Best flat iron...short life span

Bought the original Chi in a salon for $150 in 2005 and it worked great. It suddenly "broke" down in May 2009 - maybe because forgot to unplug and turn off after three hours! I was heartbroken. It was the best flat iron ever! I heard others tell me their Chi stops working after so many years. Not bad I guess, but next time I'll buy one for much less money.
