ESPN NBA Basketball Xbox

Strengths: Realistic graphics, good team play

Weakness: Iso motion not very good

Because this is the first X-Box game I've purchased, I may not be the best person to write a review, but I'm writing it to get my $5 rebate.

I have played b-ball games on older systems, like Playstation and Dreamcast, and this one clearly puts those to shame. For one, the players look much more realistic. The detail put into each player, including their facial features, hair styles, and even their tattoos is amazing. And second, I love the ability to pass to the exact guy I want to pass to. In these older games, you point in the direction that you want to pass to, but if there are two guys in that direction, you can't control which of the two the ball will go to. I hate wasting a teammate's perfect backdoor cut.

I also really like being able to make my own player and use him in a season. Trading is cool, but sometimes unrealistic. I can't remember exactly, but I traded something like Cliff Robinson and Mike Dunleavy for Tim Duncan. Also, despite having the game for a while, I haven't quite figured out how to do the iso motion thing, which makes it hard to get around my defender. It forces you to be a better passer, but once in a while I'd like to pull off a nice cross over move. Also, defense is not good. Even when I try to slow the game down, I end up with a 140-120 final score with 9 minute quarters. This can be adjusted, though, just haven't gotten around to doing it.

The 24/7 thing is supposed to be a good thing about this game, but honestly, who has the time to really use this feature?

Haven't played against other players.

All in all, I really like this game, and would buy it again.

ESPN NBA Basketball Xbox

Strengths: Great Bargain Bin Price, Lots of different game modes, Create a play is pretty cool, Sega Makes the best Sport games! More facial details than NBA Live.

Weakness: Graphics & Game Soundtrack isn't as good as NBA live 2004.

ESPN NBA 2K4, By far I think Sega Makes better sports titles than EA games, when this game was released last year, it was retailed for $19.99, unlike EA games goin for $50 bones. Still EA has ups in some area over this game, but for the money, it won't cost you an arm & a leg for this game.

Pros: Sweet Create a player option, Xbox live suppport, Fun party game, realistic facial impression, lot of different modes to play. Great Priced Game!

Cons: Graphics & Soundtrack is better on NBA Live 2K4, Needs a little more work on the control, more xbox live support could help, share same load time as Playstation 2 version. I expected better graphic when compared to playstation 2.

Overall: *** 3 OUTTA 5 *** Good Game can be found for around $5.00 used.

ESPN NBA Basketball Xbox

Strengths: Great ESPN presentation, 720p HDTV support, custom soundtracks

Weakness: Scripted animations, not enough player control, a little buggy

Whether you're a diehard basketball fan or just a casual gamer, ESPN NBA Basketball has something to interest you. Basketball fans will enjoy the authentic ESPN presentation and assortment of features and options, while casual gamers can tailor the game to be more arcade-like. The street mode offers a nice change of pace, with authentic street courts and flashy action. If you want to create your own baller, you can do so in the 24/7 mode, which lets you alter the appearance of your player and improve his skills via fun mini-games.

ESPN NBA Basketball Xbox

Strengths: Excellent game. Gameplay is true to the NBA. Graphics are the best for any basketball game available now. Sound is also excellent.

This game has all kinds of gameplay that will keep a basketball fan happy for months. The franchise mode for playing through many seasons with your favorite team is excellent. There are many street games that can be set up for arcade play and the 24/7 mode is almost a role playing game for basketball.

ESPN NBA Basketball

While the NBA season is just beginning and has yet to heat up, the battle for the thumbs of Xbox-owning hoopsters is already approaching playoff time intensity. EA Sports' NBA Live 2004 is the best the franchise has looked this millennium, and Microsoft's Inside Drive has gotten better with each new release. To counter, Sega has retooled its 2K line in order to roll out a brand-new ESPN-branded...

ESPN NBA Basketball

Antoine Walker is still on the Celtics. There you have it. That's what's wrong with ESPN NBA Basketball. Okay, there are some other things too, but nothing that stops it from being crowned the king of the courts, the cream of the cream of the crop, the best basketball game of the year. Besides, that's what online roster updates are for.
