Strengths: Quirky Graphic Style, Quick-Pacing, Ease of Use, Replay Value
Weakness: No Build Queue
After countless hours playing and months for reflection, for me, this game stands on par with Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and GTA: Vice City as the top PS games of all time.
Castlevania as the audiovisual pinnacle of the side-scroller. Vice City for perfecting the sandbox and demonstrating how a top-notch soundtrack can take a game to another level. Finally Civ: Rev for bringing a whole new genre, turn-based strategy to consoles.
Sid Meier's team has stripped down the game to its basics and built it back up from scratch with a pervaying sense of style and intuitive control. This is Sid's original masterpiece, 17 years and six generations of processing power later, an instant classic!

Weakness: gibberish that the advisor speak, limited number of civs in a game and one map size
I have been playing Civilization since 1992 and I have loved playing it on the PC... I have Civilization 4 and both expansion packs. Is Civ Revolution as involved as Civ 4? No. But is it a fun game with lots of replayability? Absolutely.
In my opinion, Civilization Revolution captures the essense of Civ on the PC but in a very streamlined gameplay. A lot of players of Civ on PC may think it's been dumb downed. I disagree. The control are great. The "cartoony" graphic are colorful and interesting and one of the best things about Civ Rev is that you can actually complete a game in one 4 hour session whereas the PC game would often take ten times that over weeks.
I think the differences in the Civs make for more reason to play the game again and again. Each Civ has unique abilities... My favorites are the Mongols (they can capture hostile tribal villages and convert them to their cities for quick expansion), the Aztecs (they automatically heal after each battle and also gain the science output with every temple) and the French (starts with a Cathedral, increased attack with cannons and half priced roads.)
Also there are four different ways to win: space victory (sending a space ship to Alpha Centuri), Domination (Caoture all enemy capitals), Cultural (getting 10 great people and building the United Nations, and Economic (getting 20000 gold and building the World Bank). So this adds another reason to play the game again to try for different victories.
I have enjoyed playing Civ Rev on the PS3 -- and I'm a PC gamer at heart and love Civilization on the PC. I would recommend Civ Rev wholeheartedly!
