Strengths: Graphics, Music, Memories of the first Tomb Raider
Weakness: Camera angles go crazy, needs to be longer, control issues
Any one who is a Tomb Raider fan must get this title. The usual suspects (camera angles, control issues) make this game a bit annoying at times, but with practice one will get used to it all. I do wish the game was a bit longer but it can be a challenge to find all of the secrets. I am extremely happy with this product and highly reccommend it for all video gamers.

Strengths: Boosted graphic, sound and all of extras!!
Weakness: The game could've been more fitted if it was on PS3(?) since it's in need of good games. PS2 had Tomb Raider love by Tomb Raider Legend not long ago.
It's based on original TR and then some! New features and smoother control than the original is definitely a plus!! OK, it's not comparable to PC version of the game in graphic department(I played the demo, it looks great!!), but I prefer PS2 version because I'm so used to Dualshock 2 controller. Either way, you can't go wrong with the game. Fan of the series? Do NOT miss this one!

Weakness: Camera, length, cutting of a certain areas
This is one of the best games of the year, and is a fitting end to the series on the PS2. All of the original locations (Except for a few places) are back and give a great feeling of nostalgia if you played the original. Gameplay is very similar to Legend (A lot of climbing mixed in with puzzles), except TRA is a much less linear and is much harder.
However, even with the vast improvements from Legend, the game's main downfall is it's length. It can easily be finished in less than 10 hours, but the game is replayable if you're looking to find all of the secrets. Occasionally, the camera isn't fantastic, but that's just nitpicking.
This game is fantastic, from beginning to end. I recommend this for every gamer, from fans of the original, to people who have never played a Tomb Raider game before.

The Cliffs Notes version of the original PSone game....
Strengths: Original PSone Tomb Raider remade for PS2, updated graphics, new moves, precision controls, $30 retail price
Weakness: Short overall length, too easy for vetrans, smaller enivornments, less effective music
The original PSone port of Tomb Raider helped usher in a new era of 3D gaming, a strong female lead (in the form of Lara Croft) and a nearly endless series of sequels with little to no updates in gameplay. Tomb Raider Anniversary tries to bring the series full circle with a dramatic update to the original game in the series.
Unfortunately, what we find here is a decidedly mixed bag. Yes, the updated visuals, controls and character abilities improve upon the original. However, all of the game's levels are noticeably smaller here, and this leads to a significantly shorter game overall. Levels that took an hour or more to complete in the original can now be finished in ten to fifteen minutes.
Anniversary is also significantly easier than the original game. While this may help beginners enjoy Tomb Raider, series veterans will likely find it too simple and race through to the end. The new game-engine cut-scenes aren't as good as the computer-generated originals, and the combat music isn't nearly as effective in Anniversary as in the original.
Series fans will probably want to try this out just to see how it was updated and experience the original game again from a different perspective. People new to the series will find Anniversary an inviting if short adventure. Overall, the original Tomb Raider is a better game, but if you can't stand the antiquated graphics and control, Anniversary provides a reasonable alternative.

Strengths: Great graphics, music rocks, lara is better than before, grapple use
Weakness: Game is too short
This game is a must for all tomb raider fans, the game is sort of a remake of the first tomb raider, the levels are well designed the graphics are stunning the weapons are great, the baddies rock and the scenery is magnificant
Lara gets an excellent anniversary gift as a kind of best-of her early years (pre-PS2) which works perfectly as a follow-up to the also excellent "Legend." If you haven't played the originals, this version more than makes up for what you missed (plus no blotchy sprites, nothing but high-rez); the haunting puzzles, the twitch-reflex skill-tests and the think-on-your feet gameplay dynamic with effective atmospheres that make you feel like you're in the dusty tombs from the get-go. The story feels more minimal here as compared to "Legends" and the emphasis is more on the exploring which is also a good thing. Shooting and gun-play are also minimized (though still central gameplay elements), which to my mind is a plus as other games do that sort of thing enough.
BOTTOM LINE: If you have never played Tomb Raider games before this is a great time to start. well worth the current asking price and deserves a place in anyone's game gallery.
Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a revisit of the original Tomb Raider game. It uses the much improved Tomb Raider: Legend engine to generate great graphics and sound to in order to give you a more immersed experience. New features and better control have been added to this game. However, this game would rock more visually if it were released on the PS3 platform to utilize the High-Def powers.
Anyway, this game is truly the best Tomb Raider game so far. Pick it up!
Strengths: Great graphics, Reasonably priced for a new game, several unlockables
Weakness: Not extremely difficult
Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a remake of the original Tomb Raider. Simply calling it a remake doesn't really do the game justice though. The game developers gave the entire game an overhaul, improving the graphics, redesigning levels, and changing the gaming engine. The result is a game that remains faithful to the original but holds up to today's standards. My only criticism is that the game overall isn't that challenging. Still, at $30, this game is a great value for both nostaligic fans and gamers unfamiliar with the Tomb Raider franchise.
Strengths: Upgraded graphics, Better play control, Quality sound
Weakness: Wonky camera angles
This a great pick up for those who haven't had the opportunity to play this great series. The improved graphics and sound brings it up to par to current titles and keeps things fresh for experienced players. Many of the features that past players are familiar with are back with some surprising new twists.
Strengths: Nice improvements to the original game, good graphics and sound, good to see they made the game a little different
Weakness: But still, haven't we seen this before? Also, PS2 version not as good as the PC version-- PS2 probably could've been improved
Tomb Raider Anniversary is a return to the original Tomb Raider game, using the game engine of Tomb Raider Legend. This means that the graphics, controls, and general feel of the game is much more modern. And in many ways this game feels like the game they wanted to make back 10 years ago but technology wouldn't allow it. It's very nice to see how well the game can play. It's still the game you (hopefully!) remember, except with some changes here and there to keep it interesting.
On one hand, you've played this before probably (if you liked it a lot-- buy this game!), but on the other, it's a very nice upgrade. The PC version is even better if you have a good gamepad-- much better graphics and sound. I have a feeling the PS2 could've been made even better with a little extra time to polish.
4 stars-- it loses a little bit for probably not pushing the PS2 to its max and for being a remake-- but a very carefully crafted remake.
