Sega World Seris Baseball 2K3 Xbox

Strengths: Franchise Mode, Graphics

Weakness: Pitching, Sound

Sega World Seris Baseball 2K3 Xbox was the best baseball game to come out in 2003. The game has stunning graphics (for the time anyway) and a franchise mode that put all other games out at that time to shame.

Gameplay, especially batting and baserunning are much improved over previous versions. From top to bottom, this game presently a great baseball experience. Obviously most people are now playing 2K6 as this game is three years old, but if you don't care about current rosters, you can pick this game up for less than $5. Not a bad purchase if you just want to play a baseball game on the cheap.

World Series Baseball 2K3 for the Microsoft Xbox

Strengths: + World Series Baseball series is BACK! (loved it on the Genesis) + Alright graphics and controls

Weakness: - Fielding is not very intuitive - Batting and pitching also somewhat difficult - Games take far too long to finish

This review is for World Series Baseball 2K3 for the Xbox. I'm a big fan of the WSB series from way back on the Genesis so I was excited to see it return. However, this series hasn't evolved well, despite the better graphics, sound, gameplay, control, etc. It's just lost that "fun" it had years ago, and never regained it.
The graphics are servicable, as is the control and sound. The fielding can be difficult, as can be hitting the ball (I strikeout A LOT).
The rosters are obviously also outdated because of it's age, and it lacks modes that newer versions have (when it turned into the ESPN MLB Baseball series).

I would not really recommend this game to many. It's cheap, but not really worth it overall, even if you were a fan of the WSB series.

World Series Baseball 2K3

Strengths: Graphics are great

Weakness: None really, this game was pretty good

This game had some GREAT graphics for a baseball game. It looked VERY realistic. This game actually hasn't been boring after I played a full season through. I get sick of most sports games after 1 full season.

Sega Sports(tm) World Series® Baseball 2K3

Baseball: you either love it or you hate it. Dissenters think baseball without a keg on second base is simply standing on some grass and occasionally tossing a white ball around. Fanatics dig deep into the numbers aspect of baseball (what is Randy Wolf’s ERA in day games during a 2-1 count?), open packs of baseball card packs and throw out the gum, and fill out personal scorecards at the game...

World Series Baseball 2K3 (xbox)

In the Sega's Genesis and Saturn days, World Series Baseball was the unquestionable king of baseball games. For some unknown reason, though, it lost the magic. The Dreamcast version was, well, crap -- which left many players wondering what happened to the franchise that they had known and loved. Thankfully, Blue Shift got behind the reins of the Xbox version last year and reworked the game into...

World Series Baseball 2K3 (xbox)

Last year, Sega released its first next-gen baseball title, attempting to build on the past reputation of their World Series franchise. With Blue Shift behind the developer's wheel, World Series Baseball hit Xbox with a flourish. Less than a year later, World Series Baseball 2K3 is coming to both Xbox and PS2. Lacking online play, which every other Sega sports title has mastered, can WSB 2K3...
