Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Star Wars movies done on the Gamecube, great graphics and sound, amazing gameplay, keeps you interested from beginning to end

Weakness: Gamecube exclusive, some levels aren't easy

If you're into Star Wars, you will pick up this game without question. The original series movies are done amazingly well with this game, putting you into all the great moments from those films.

The graphics are top-notch, as is the sound, which helps to make this an even better experience. Some of the game keeps you thinking and guessing, as it's not simple, though should it be, if it's Star Wars?

The only main "weakness" I can see is that it's only on the Gamecube, as the difficulty isn't really something that is a put-off, just makes you come back for more.

Well worth every bit of it's price, it's a must-have for all Gamecube owners.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: If there was a game that would feel like the movie, this is it... nothing else compares with the graphics, sound, playability, replay value, and overall overwhelming fun!

Weakness: I dont know of any weaknesses.

Did you ever watch the Star Wars Trilogy 4-6? After Star Wars Episode I, a bunch of Star Wars games are out for each console, and the other games dont even feel like it shoud be called Star Wars!

Well, this game will prove the others wrong and will get you in the action... and there's plenty of it. I would say that its one of the best mainstream games out on the market, aside from GTA 3, FF X and MGS 2. Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II is a must have for all the hardcore gamers out there looking for great GRAPHICS.

IF YOU BUY THIS GAME, YOU WOULD KNOW WHERE YOUR $55 WENT. Each dollar is worth this game... Enjoy!

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: The graphics are to die for, and the story line for each level is great!

Weakness: some levels are pretty difficult. If you would like a challenge, this one's for you!

This games is great for any one, but especially for someone who likes good graphics, the star wars movies, and flying games! Some of the levels, like Strike at The Core, the Battle of Hoth, and the Battle of Endor are pulled right from the movies for you to experience! On one of the secret levels, you can even be Darth Vader and kill rebels!

Star Wars Rogue Leader

Strengths: Almost perfectly captures the music and atmosphere of classic Star Wars

Weakness: Some uneven level design

Star Wars: Rogue Leader II is the sequel to Rogue Squadron on the nintendo 64. I skipped the n64 prequel but had no trouble jumping in this sequel. With it's easy to learn controls I was flying as an ace pilot in no time through the Death Star.

I only had a few complaints with this game. First off all, the game has some uneven levels. Some are easy, then hard, then easy again. Also, they could have mixed up the objectives a little more to throw in some variety.

A must have title for Star Wars

Strengths: Excellent control, graphics, plot, and this game is challenging. It will awe you with the realistic environment and make you think that you are the pilot behind the x-wing, y-wing, etc. A+++++

Weakness: It's long but I wanted more of it!!!

I bought this game knowing that it is one of the launch titles of GameCube and I immediately knew it was one of best decision ever! A must have for all Game Cube owners! LucasArt does it again!

The Star Wars game you always dreamed about.

Strengths: Great graphics and music. Probably best all-around Star Wars game ever. Cool unlockables. Any Star Wars fan will be worshipping this game.

Weakness: The difficulty and trial-and-error gameplay will give you nightmares. Weak radar. Linear gameplay. Controls could be better

Rogue Leader was a Gamecube launch title that undoubtably sold a lot of Gamecubes. The very first level, flying over the Death Star in your X-Wing, it's hard not to be swept away by the game and feel like this is the Star Wars game you have always wanted. The graphics are intense, the music is stirring, and everything looks and plays like you think it should.

Very soon, though, you'll find yourself in missions where it's not always clear exactly what you have to do. And, if you guess wrong, or you're not quick enough, the mission will be over and you have to start all over again. Some of the missions are extremely unforgiving. I don't want the games that I play to be too easy, but on the other hand, Rogue Leader can be so harsh that it's too frustrating to be fun. Play this one with a FAQ handy.

Graphics and sound are stunning. No complaints in those departments. The music is right from the Star Wars soundtrack, and is exhilarating and exciting even when the game isn't.

Control is...okay. At the time it was released, it was adequate and felt in line with the N64 Rogue Squadron. But it could have been implemented better, especially the speed control. It gets in the way, which is something you don't want in furious dogfights.

While there's not a lot of depth, there is a lot to do, with unlockables to earn and secrets to find. The temptation to do better is there, and you get rewarded with better medals and more to see. The only damper is the frustration level and the unforgiving gameplay. These are things that could have been fixed, and it's a shame that they weren't.

Rebel Strike, the sequel, fixes some problems (mainly the linear nature of missions), leaves some intact, and adds more. If I had to choose one, I'd choose this one.

ahh, rogue leader

Strengths: Great graphics, fun dogfights

Weakness: the protection missions, as always, are a real downer

Fond memories, this game brings. Talk like Yoda for this review, I will. The Force is strong with this one. Beautiful, the graphics are. Engaging, the gameplay is. My first Gamecube game, this game was. Play it for hours, I still do. Buy it, you must. (Translation: This game is simply superb. It was a Gamecube launch game, but remains as one of the funnest games on the system. Flying in a myriad of star fighters, from X-wings to Tie Fighters, just doesn't get better than this)

a great game buttttttttttt............

Strengths: beautiful

Weakness: repetitive

Rouge Leader does a better job in the Star Wars video game collection as an X-wing shoot 'um up than the origonal Rouge Squad. But it would nice if Lucasarts did'nt put the multi player in a bounus disk in the 3rd game that has Rouge Leader's multi-player in it.

You are Luke Skywalker the leader of the elite flying force called Rouge Suaderan. You do missions with only two of the dozen wing-men as you drive your star fighter through historical and not-as-historical-as-the-historical-missions.

This is a great game but you won't be hooked for hours upon end.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Excellent visuals, exciting gameplay, terrific sound.

Weakness: Very difficult for newer gamers. No multiplayer.

A launch title for the Gamecube, this one still has the power to "wow" with it s graphical prowess and enjoyable action. There have been few truly great Star Wars games out there--but this is one of them. First off, the setup is straightforward and logical--you play as Wedge or Luke and go on missions that relate directly to the movies. These might not be scenes *from* the movies, but they are very logical extensions that flesh out what you do scene on screen. Rarely do the missions feel forced. Another plus is that the visuals and sounds do a great job recreating the movies. Even though at this point this game is getting old, it still looks as good as anything out there. The gameplay itself is a lot of fun with tight control of your flying ship and the ability to enter massive dogfights. The only downside is that those massive dogfights are very very difficult. I have a hard time getting beyond the early stages. With a bevy of unlockables, this game has a lot of replay value and should be owned by everyone with a Gamecube.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Beautiful graphics, Dolby Pro Logic II support, controls, reliving Star Wars fantasies.

Weakness: Too challenging at times, no multiplayer modes.

Factor 5 has done a great job recreating all the Star Wars moments from the original trilogy. Graphically, this game is without peer as all the ships, lasers, environments are faithfully rendered in polygon form. Everything is drop dead gorgeous. Even a few movie clips were thrown in for good measure. With Dolby Pro Logic II support, the sound can be quite immersing (if you have the right sound gear). The game makes great use of the Gamecube controller as the right and left triggers have multiple functions depending on how far your push the buttons in. The great innovation in this series is that you can now command other people in your fleet. Although it's quite simplistic (flee, support, attack, etc.), it's a welcome addition to the relatively solitary experience. There's incentive to go back and play the levels again as you are rewarded with various medals for how well you do. The game can be incredibly difficult and frustrating at times, especially if you don't know the exact objective of the mission. Too bad there are no multiplayer modes or dog fights to spice things up. Highly recommended to any Star Wars fan or game enthusiasts in general.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Gameplay, graphics, characters

Weakness: none

Now this is truly one amazing game. You will spend hours playing this game, trying to master it's intricacies. You will be stunned by the amazing graphics, still some of the best graphics on gamecube to this day. The game follows the star wars trilogy storyline, and features everyone's favorite jedi. This is an outstanding game from all views.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: very fun

Weakness: difficulty

this game is great for star wars fans and shooter fans alike. The gameplay is spot on with nice aerial battles. You get to control all the famous star wars ships, and even some of the bad guys ships. The levels are amazing as you blow up the death star and such. If you find it for under 20 i would get it.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Graphics. Gameplay. Good use of the Star Wars franchise. Challenging for differing skill levels.

Weakness: Full game in multiplayer form available in the sequel.

Rogue Leader was a launch game for the cube, the one that was supposed to make you gape in wonder at the graphics the system was capable of. Given the abundance of games that are nothing but eyecandy, one might be forgiven for believing such was the case for Rogue Leader, but nothing could be further from the truth. Leaving the aside the graphics and setting, this game is simply one of the best arcade (meaning not quite realistic vehicle movement) shooters out there. The dogfights are a pure joy to experience. When combined with a Star Wars setting, this fame will make any fan realize just what a Star Wars game should be.

I would say that the difficulty for at least completing the game ramps up fairly nicely. The early levels are a good introduction to what kind of flying will be expected of you in the later levels, without being so easy that they lack entertainment value. Even the most difficult level in the game can be completed by an average player, but getting the gold medals will be a welcome challenge to those that want it.

Some people might be bit hesitant in buying this game because a fairly complete multiplayer version is included in rogue squadron 3. To them, I would say that this game is more than worthy of the price you can now find it at now. If the only way you have to enjoy this game is in two player, you won't be able to enjoy it any time you want. I've tried playing the missions by myself in Rogue 3, and it's not nearly as much fun. Having the second player just flying along really detracts from the experience, not to mention there are some levels you just won't be able to pass without two people playing.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Dolby Pro Logic II sound, lots of extras to earn

Weakness: Main game is kinda short

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader is the sequel to Star Wars: Rogue Squadron on the N64 & is an action 3rd-Person flight shooter just as the first game was.

This Star Wars game has alot of good things going for it. It takes place in the classic universe of the Star Wars trilogy movies. You can play the game in 3rd-Person view or from inside of your plan. You can unlock several secret levels, ships and modes of play. I would recommend this game to anyone that is a Star Wars fan & likes 3rd-Person shooter flight type games.

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Looks great. Sounds great. Plays great.

Weakness: Can be challenging

Rogue Squadron was one of the first GC games released. Even so, it still looks and plays great. It's an amazing game of very high quality. You get to pilot for the rebellion in a variety of missions that have a great story. It's not quite X-Wing or Tie Fighter, but for a console it may be as close as you'll ever get.

The missions can get quite challenging. But that's part of the fun. The graphics rival any game on any system. The sound puts you right in the movies.

I was able to pick this up for less than ten. If you have a buddy pick up III which has this game included in the multiplayer portion. If you don't have either and want a cheap GC game, this is a must have!

Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II

Strengths: Great graphics, encapsulates Star Wars feel

Weakness: Difficulty ramps up pretty quickly, still just a Star Wars game

You would think that with every console generation getting another Star Wars game that looks just like the movies and lets you play all kinds of classic scenes, the concept would get tired and gameplay stale. And all your thoughts in this regard would be wrong. Once again, here comes a Star Wars game that looks even closer to how the movies looks and puts you right in the action. The flight controls seem accurate (like anyone would know anyway) and handle well in the game. The locations are varied and numerous and the audio is always great. Factor 5 knows exactly what they are doing. The difficulty starts off average, and then later on really hits you as death after death will greet the novice player until they develop an adequate skill level. The same convention as in previous games remains where you get medals based on how well you do and can unlock a large amount of extras to encourage replay. One particularly extra I really enjoyed and think most games would benefit from is an audio commentary track on the hoth level where the developers are telling you stuff (just like a dvd) as you play the game. A great addition to the Cube library and still preferred over its unfortunate sequel, Rogue III.
