If you often have friends over, then this is a good party game to play. Unfortunately, if you usually play by yourself, then don't bother. Some mini-games are great, but get repetitive. You can tell Microsoft put a lot of money into the production of this game, and they partially succeeded. I'd recommend this game if you can get it cheap and have 3 others to play it with.

Weakness: A bit difficult for some children.. gets repetitive after a while
I really enjoyed this game quite a bit. I played this game with my mom and she enjoyed it. It's a lot like the Mario Party games which are a lot of fun.

Weakness: Short game, could be boring for youth and adults
Viva Pinata: Party Animal is a decent game that is geared towards younger children. It's family friendly and has easy achievements, and online play. However, it may not be well received by older children and adults due to its extreme repetitive gameplay.
Graphics looks great and colorful, which appeals to young children. The game consists of mini-games, which are easily achievable by young kids. If they love the characters in the TV show already, they will love the game as it's pretty true to the show as far as look and feel is concerned.
Viva Pinata: Party Animal is not really a party game. It's extremely repetitive and players get bored out of it pretty fast. However, it is still decent and fun for younger kids. Only pick this up if you can find it cheap or your kids are diehard fans of the show.

Bought this game for my niece to play. She seemed to enjoy the game. The graphics look great. However, it seem to be entertaining only for very young kids, especially the mini-games. Older kids and adults may find it not so fun, because of the repetitive and redundant theme.
Pinata Party for Kids & Casual Gamers - But Party...
Strengths: Great game for little kids (colorful, cartoonish, simplistic, talking parrot). Super easy to play. Family-friendly. Easy to unlock achievements. Better play with multiplayer.
Weakness: Horrible game for real party game fans and any non-casual gamers. Extremely repetitive games. Races are especially disappointing. Designers apparently never played other party games or Mario Kart.
Microsoft looked to cash in on the success of its Viva Pinata game with this one and lost sight of actually developing a good game. I own the original Viva Pinata and I highly recommend it in lieu of this. The original is a Sims type game, but is very easy to play, has great graphics, and is kid-friendly. Only get Party Animals if your kid loves the Saturday morning cartoon show, you must own every party game ever made for the XBOX 360, or you love throwing money away. There are far better party games out there. Spend your money on Rayman's Raving Rabbids (#1 or 2) instead. Rayman's Raving Rabbids is a great party game and extremely entertaining and original (the first installment is also comparably priced). If you've ever played Mario Kart, you will see that Microsoft dropped the ball with the races in this game. They are too short, unoriginal, and uninteresting. They could have been the saving grace of the game had the designers chosen to develop them. The 50+ games and races in this game are too repetitive to be any fun after initial play. I consider myself a casual gamer with limited skill and I never lost a single race or event the entire time I played.
Glad developers are bringing more family oriented titles to the xbox. This game is particularly cute and has kept my 6 year old busy. I am surprised that the price of this game has dropped so dramatically since its release. Still its a very good buy.
Strengths: Fun races (think mario kart), fun mini games (think mario party), all around great time

Overall this is a really fun game especially if you've already played the original Viva Pinata and are familiar with the various characters. The games are rather amusing especially if you have upwards of 4 people. It's still fun with 2 people but definitely better with 3 or 4. I would say it's comparable to Rayman Rabbids in terms of gameplay, though minigames are a little different.

Got this game for my nephew and he enjoys it very much. I thought it was just a kids game, but I have fun myself addicted to the game too. Great overall game.
