I would definitely recommend this product to teens or younger. We had a really good time playing it, the kids learned to take turns in order to all equally play.

Strengths: Singstar Pop has a great variety of popular songs by popular artists today.
Weakness: Singstar Pop could be more accurate concerning the pitch of the notes.
Singstar Pop is a great game with a wide variety of songs to choose from. There are songs geered towards guys and songs geered towards girls, but many of the songs could be sung by both. It is a fun game that could be enjoyed by the whole family.

This game is good in that it makes you work on your pitch. Making noise into the mic will not not increase your score unless it's the correct pitch and timing. Visually shows you where your tone pitch is relative to where it should be, so you can adjust it by what you see on the screen. So, it helps you to sing in the correct tone pitch. The mics are not cheap construction and have some weight--feels good. You can listen to your performance right after and even save it. There are different difficulty levels which basically change the sensitivity of the game picking up your pitch. It Karaoke on a budget with the ability to change difficulty levels and get scoring of your performance. The one thing immediate thing that needs improvement is the ability to add new/different songs. If this could do that--it'd practically be perfect.

My daughter sort of forced me into buying this for our PlayStation 3. The game and microphones are compatible with the PlayStation 3. My kids absolutely love the game.
The game is very engaging and and quite an attraction for the whole family.
The game scores you on getting the notes right. It also allows you to play back to see where you missed the proper notes.
The only drawback is that you are limited to 30 songs. A PlayStation 3 version of the SingStar is scheduled for release in the 4th quarter of 2007.

My family enjoyed this product. I thought it was alittle silly when my son asked for it. It now seems that we (whole family) can get enough of it. Singstar Pop is great for the whole family and good family time. The microphones are great quality, not the plastic cheap ones. There are three difficulty levels - easy, medium and hard. The main difference in the difficulty levels is how sensitive the game is to your pitch. This game will definitely train you to become a better singer.
