Mario Party 6

Strengths: Day and Night effect mini-games, easy to pick-up and play by just about anyone, allows for mini-game type/difficulty selection. The "Rare" basketball mini-game (must be unlocked) is super fun.

Weakness: Some mini-games seem to show up more often than others. A few of the mini-games are very challenging, even after extended play (but that can add to the fun too).

Mario party has been great fun to play with. It has been enjoyed by just about everyone I've shown it to. Even people that don't play any video games have had a good time playing it. Since there are several different "boards" ("boards" like traditional boardgame boards), each with its own set of rules, along with an ability to set the difficulty/type of minigames involved, the difficulty of the game can be tailor suited to those involved.

Mario Party 6 includes a single player mode with 3 different boards, a 1-4 player mode with 7 boards (some must be unlocked by earning stars), several smaller compitions, and the ability to play individual mini-games on the Party Bus.

Overall, Mario Party 6 can be enjoyed by a diverse group of players at different skill levels. The strategy involved can be as deep as a player wants it to be. The only drawback is that some of the minigames can be quite challenging or get repetitive after daily playing for months on end. Best when played with others.

Mario Party 6

Strengths: There are many different levels and characters to choose from. There are lots of fun mini-games and challenges.

Weakness: It doesn't take that long to complete the game and unlock everything that needs to be unlocked. I did it in about a day.

Mario Party 6 is a great game if you want to have a little fun. All your favourite Mario stars are back in this great game. There are some secret levels and a secret character to unlock. There is a new Mic Mode which has some decent games to play. There are several options in Mini-game mode. You can choose to select your favourite game or do challenges with other people whether it be friends or computer players. There is also a Bingo mini-game and a path mini-game where you play random mini-games until you lose. Overall Mario Party 6 is a great, fun, adventurous game and I would highly recommend to people of any age. :)

Mario Party 6 (GC)

Strengths: Day/night mode, fun multiplayer, mic-added gameplay

Weakness: Not fun with single player, somewhat short

Mario Party 6 is the 6th game in the Mario Party series. In this game, day & night mode is added to the game, which gives some difference to how the gameboard reacts. A microphone is also added, giving some voice-activated minigames to play, though it has its issues in comprehension. It's not much fun in single-player mode, though that's always been the case with Mario Party games, and it's a bit short.

Overall, for Mario Party fans, this is one to get.

Mario Party 6

Strengths: More excellent Mario Party action, microphone adds a twist to the games

Weakness: Mario Party series is getting a bit stale

Mario Party 6, the latest in the yearly Mario Party series (and Mario Party 7 is coming out soon!), builds upon the previous entries and continues the tradition of fun, easy-to-learn gameplay that is a hallmark of the series.

There are two main changes in this installment. The first is the Day/Night cycle that occurs with each board - every few turns the board changes from day to night or back again, and the board itself and the minigames change. This helps add a bit of variety to the game but is not a major change.

The biggest change is the inclusion of a microphone with the game. This is used in several minigames and in a separate game mode all by itself. This peripheral is well-implemented and definitely broadens the scope of the mini game concept. When speaking words into the microphone, however, you need to speak clearly and slowly - something that young children often have a hard time doing when in the heat of a minigame competition. For an older child or adult who is aware of the microphone's limitations, however, it works very well and is able to differentiate between many different types of words (in one game different attacks like 'missile' and 'bomb' and in another different types of fruit). I was a bit surprised that the microphone was used for more than "Go/Stop" type of gameplay. The microphone games can be turned off, or a controller used in their place (since most games have about 4 words you can speak which map well to the buttons).

Overall, this is yet another excellent entry into the Mario Party series. While the series is definitely getting a bit stale, Nintendo also knows that what they have is a good thing and too much tinkering could ruin it. We'll see what Mario Party 7 brings...

Nintendo Mario Party 6

Strengths: Mic Mode, Tons of Games, Fast & Fun Action

Weakness: Game is short and single player is kind of boring

Nintendo Mario Party 6 continues the fun Mario Party tradition with a series of mini games. You can play as a variety of characters and try to collect stars to by playing mini games in order to win. Games are fun against friends and the microphone games are cool as well. Single player doesn't hold up as well, and the overall game is short, but if you're a fan of the series, this will not disappoint.

Mario is back

Strengths: mic mini game, new single player mode.

Weakness: only fun if you are playing with friends

Mario Party 5 is the fifth game in the series. This time there is new mic mini game and a new single player mode. The mic mini games take advantage of the mic that comes with the game. Those games are intersting, but sometimes it can be hard for the computer to understand what you are saying. There is also a new single player mode so it would not be boring if you played the past Mario Party games. The only down side is that if you are playing alone it is not as fun.

Mario Party 6

Strengths: mini games give it a change from the usual, new boards

Weakness: If you played Mario party 5 you can get this done in a day

The mini games help because the game gets a little boring If you are good at Mario party games before this one you should be able to finish the game in one day otherwise it is still lots of fun and something I would expect from Mario party!

Mario Party 6

Strengths: Quick Play, Lots of Characters, Tons of Mini-Games, New "Mic" Mode

Weakness: Quick Play, No DK Character or Wario, Only 5 Boards to play on

The last Mario Party I owned was the N64 version so Nintendo has had 6 versions to try and impress me with. This latest installment is full of characters everyone ranging from Mario to Waluigi? and Toad. The boards although in few numbers are creative with the purpose of getting the star not the only method of gameplay. The old goal changes on a few of the boards with one board starting you off with 5 stars and riding chain chomps to squish people into then surrendering their stars to you. The gameplay is very quick which is good and bad, good because no one wants to wait around for comp characters and bad because you yourself move very quickly and at times makes you nauseous. (Not really just at times their movement is like woo slow down!) The Mic mode is fun because you utilize voice recognition to beat the other characters in a 3 vs. 1 battle. This game is a great adventure and perfect for anyone who wants to play with several differant friends in a friendly but competitive environment.

Mario Party 6

Strengths: A great party game, enjoyable for any age group, easy to learn

Weakness: The microphone features are fairly useless; not significantly different from other Mario Party games; weak single player component

The sixth entry in the Mario Party series meets the high standards that the previous games have set but doesn't exceed them. The game is very fun and easy to play, though if you have any of the previous Mario Party games it's unlikely that you'll need to own this game. The most significant is the addition of a cheesy day/night element that alters the game boards every few turns. Mario Party 6 is certainly a great game, but it is only a required purchase if you have people to play it with and you don't own Mario Party 1-5.

Mario Party 6

Strengths: Better than all the other Mario Parties

Weakness: Still wish there was a record time for more minigames

Game is excellent. If you liked ANY of the Mario Parties, you will LOVE this one. Placing things on the board means a lot more now, the graphics are well done. Most of the Minigames are REALLY fun. Some obviously aren't, but that happens with all the Mario Parties.

GET IT.

Mario Party 6

Strengths: Great multiplayer game, smooth gameplay, easy to play, mini-games, voice-activated

Weakness: Short single player version, similar to previous versions of the game

Just as the title indicates, this is a party game. Great for all ages, this game pits members of the Mushroom Kingdom (Mario, Luigi, Wario, Princess Peach, etc.) against each other in a board-game setting. Players take turns rolling dice to move around the board to collect coins which enable the player to buy stars. The player with the most stars at the end of the game is the winner.

Coins are obtained through landing on spaces and different mini-games, in which opponents compete against each other in various tasks. It is very similar to earlier games of the series. The major addition to this game is in voice-recognition via a microphone in voice-activated mini-games.

Overall, this game is just plain fun when played with multiple people. Single player is available, but it certainly is not as much fun playing against the CPU.

Mario Party 6

The Mario Party series might as well be called Mario Birthday Party. Since the first title in the franchise launched on Nintendo 64 in 1999, Nintendo and developer Hudson have managed to put out a new Mario Party every year. Quite a feat, considering that the tight release schedule hasn't taken a toll on quality. Each game in the series is packed to the brim with brand-new mini-games, features...

Mario Party 6

It's been five long years since we first saw Nintendo and Hudson Soft team up to bring Mario Party to us on the Nintendo 64. Pioneering the whole party game genre -- Bomberman still withstanding -- the Mario Party series has peaked and ebbed over the span of five full games. The last two for GameCube both left something to be desired, but the latest incarnation does a few things to freshen up the...
