This game is great, one of my favorites. It is easy enough for everyone to play but not too easy. There are multi-player games, mini-games, and puzzles so it is hours of fun. Also, the puzzle mode is fun to play several times since you won't steer the ball the same way twice. This is a great game to play with others at parties, taking turns on puzzle modes and mini games. Trying to steer the ball around curves and obstacles drinking with friends is good for a laugh. In short, I highly recommend this game, I loved it so much I actually purchased a copy as a gift for my sister.

Super Monkey Ball Deluxe for PS2 is a simple puzzle game in which you guide a monkey in a sphere through an obstacle course by using the analog stick to tilt the board beneath it. Collecting bananas and finishing in record time increases your score. Be careful though, if your monkey rolls off the edge you have to start over. The game is simple but very challenging. With all the best levels from Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 plus 46 new ones (a total of 300!), you'll be busy for a long time. All 12 party games from both Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 are also included. The multiplayer part of the game is the best of all. Competition mode puts you up against up to four of your friends in any of the boards unlocked in challenge mode. The party games, though, are where you'll really have a blast. For example, in Monkey Fight DX the objective is knock your friends out of the arena by hitting them with a boxing glove and in Monkey Target DX you must launch your ball off a ramp into the air, press X to open it into wings, and glide to a target trying to land as close to the bullseye as possible. With such a wide variety of party games you'll be laughing your heads off for hours and hours. There are some load times in this version but they are short and should not bother PS2 users who are already accustomed to loading. Some of the more insane levels sometimes have a slight drop in frame rate. Also a stage editor and online modes would have been nice. In short, with so much great content at such a low price, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe is a must have.

Some of the best games are also the most simple and when a title has tight enough gameplay it can be based around almost anything, even a group of monkey heroes that travel in translucent spheres. Hence the success of Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, a title that is both accessible and challenging with a wacky style that is sure to put a smile on the most jaded gamer's face.
