Condemned - Criminal Origins is a very violent game. But it is good for those who want some excitement :-)
Controls are smooth, and there are lots of actions. Plus, graphics are excellent (sometimes feel a bit too real). The only downside is that the game is a bit short (about 5 to 7 hours of continuous play). Once done, you probably don't want to re-play anymore. So it's probably better for rental.

Condemned is a very good game that is original and not the typical horror game. It has a good story and gameplay, but the length of the game is pretty short at under ten hours. Once you have beaten the game once, there isn't much reason to go back through and play again unless you are trying to get an achievement missed previously. The best way I can think of to describe Condemned is a mix between the atmosphere of the Saw movies and gameplay elements from the CSI TV shows. This is a very good game that I would recommend to anyone, especially around Halloween time.

Strengths: (1)Great atmosphere is generated by creepy graphics, unsettling sounds, brutal fight sequences and the uneasy quiet in between
Weakness: (1)Not highly replayable (2) Very linear level and puzzle design
Condemned: Criminal Origins is a genuinely frightening game and very atmospheric one at that. The situations you are put into, the environments, vicious enemies and brutal bludgeonings all work together to create an immersive horror game. Much attention has been paid to the presentation and the visuals and horrific sounds really bring the story to life. That said, this is more or less a straightforward story-guided game. The levels are very linear and there is usually only path to follow and one way around an obstacle. Despite this lack of freedom in the gameworld, Condemned is still a great experience if you can handle the horror genre. The game is played in a First Person view, which adds to the immersion, especially since most of the fighting is of the hand-to-hand (hand held weapon, actually) variety. The fighting is very much gory and in your face. Parts of the story also unfold during CSI like crime scene investigations which are interesting but not very interactive. Like the level design, these investigations are very linear and you cannot progress until you select the right tool that is called for at the time and perform the task that is requested.
Strengths: Great graphics and sound, immersive storyline, well-done horror atmosphere
Weakness: Short in length, no replay value
Condemned: Criminal Origins is a first-person horror action title. The main character is an FBI agent searching out a serial killer. After some plot twists, the game turns on its ear and the main character is a fugitive on the run. Through the game, there's numerous plot twists and puzzles, mixed in with lots of first-person combat, with melee weapons and firearms. The game looks good and sounds fantastic, adding into the horror aspects of the game. From beginning to end, it's a great but short horror game, though once complete, there isn't a reason to play through a second time.
Strengths: Incredible graphics and atmosphere. Great storyline and rewarding gameplay experience. Not much to complain about since it's a single player game really.
Weakness: Not much left after you beat the game. It's only a single player game after all. The graphics can at times be a little too shiny giving it a plastic sheen over all the characters.
At first I didn't what to expect since I heard mixed reviews about the game. I just remembered liking the "Chronicles of Riddick" game on the original xbox immensely and since this game was produced by Monolith, I figured it couldn't hurt to check it out. And here I am weeks later and I am glad that I picked this game up. Once you start in on it you'll be immediately impressed by the stellar graphics and textures (make SURE you are playing in high def or you'll be lacking some great details). Even the sound was great and drew you into the game even further and created a perfect atmosphere for a suspense game like this. The combat, though a bit repetitive, was fun and using the different pieces of background to kill the psychos in the game were great. Obviously because this was meant to be a single player experience, there's not much left after you beat the game once, besides trying to collect all the birds for little unlockables. Overall, there's a lot to like about this game and very little left out. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes their games with a great storyline, though you should be careful if you're not into graphic violence or if this game is being bought for a child.
In condemned you play as a FBI agent assigned to serial crimes. He is framed for a murder. Your objective is to find the real killer and clear his name. The game has really good graphics, sound story line. The sound effects are excellent and it can be pretty scary. The game is a bit short at 10 levels. The game also has good melee combat. Overall I recommend this game it is fun and entertaining.
Strengths: Disgustingly beautiful graphics and sound effects; creepy atmosphere, enhanced by superb surround sound; engaging story; fun melee combat
Weakness: Repetitive gameplay and environments; minimal replay; won't appeal to those expecting traditional FPS gameplay
One of the first games developed for the Xbox 360, Condemned: Criminal Origins remains one of the system's most underrated titles. While the quality of its graphics may not eclipse those of recent 360 games, Condemned's sound design is truly - pardon the pun - killer. The game's sound effects and surround sound are first rate and provide a great reference for any home theater setup.
But it's the immersive first-person gameplay that makes Condemned such a joyfully unnerving experience through and through. The first-person perspective really helps sell the dark world of Condemned. Through the eyes of the main character, you get up close and personal with ghastly enemies, dishing out brutal beatings with all sorts of melee weapons. There are shooting and puzzle-solving elements, but mostly, Condemned: Criminal Origins is a game that violently thrusts you face-first into the action and carries you like a nauseating roller-coaster ride to the end.
This was one of the first games for the 360, and it still holds up quite well. The graphics are amazing, and extremely realistic. This is not a game for those who scare easily. The game can get repetitive, but it also doesn't last very long, which might be a good thing in this case. There is some replay value in that you can collect various items in order to unlock some achievements, but otherwise you're not likely to play through it more than once. You should be able to find this game pretty cheap, so it should definitely be worth the cost.
Strengths: Great story and playability. Fun horror style game.
Weakness: Really a one shot.
Condemned was one fot he first games to come out on teh Xbox360 and it folows in the tradition of games like Manhunt and Condemned. It has a lot of the shocks and scares of a traditional horror game. The only downside is that once you're done, it doesn't have much replayability. But it's fun while it lasts.
Strengths: Great storyline and really creepy. Excellent hand to hand combat with nice graphics for a first gen game.
Weakness: No multiplayer and flashlight can be a hinderance
Got this game at a really good price at Best Buy. Would recommend now that it is a lower priced game. Well worth the purchase and I am glad that I purchased it.
Strengths: Hands down, the best horror game ever made
Weakness: Weak replay value
This game is the scariest thing you have ever played or seen. Turn the lights out and play this game at night..I dare you. It is hard to even finish some parts, it is THAt scary!
WOW! THIS IS A VERY BLOODY GAME AND HAS GONE TO LENGTHS TO MAKE THE ATTACKS AS REAL AS I'VE EVER SEEN. THE SOUNDS OF YOUR ATTACKERS AND YOURSELF SMASHING PIPES AND OTHER FUN INSTRUMENTS INTO THE SKULLS AND BODIES OF THEIR VICTIMS IS EXTREMELY REALISTIC. THE GAME NEEDED A MAPPING SYSTEM, IT GETS VERY CONFUSING TO DETERMINE YOUR LOCATION. THE GRAPHICS ARE EXCELLENT, HOWEVER IT IS HARD TO SEE SINCE MOST SCENES ARE IN THE DARK. I AM HAVING A GREAT TIME WITH THIS ONE, HOPE YOU DO TO!
Strengths: Engaging story, using forensics for evidence, game play
Weakness: Too short, repetitive
Condemned: Criminal Origins is an exceptional game for the Xbox 360. The story is very engaging and entertaining. You play as a cop that is investigating a gruesome murder. As you are taking evidence, you and your partner realize that the killer may still be in the building. What ensues is a wild adventure through dark environments with deranged characters trying to end your life.
The game play is also very good. The dark environments and the first person action remind me of Doom III, but you are not always blasting away with guns. There are times where you will have to use a lead pipe, shovel, axe, etc. to fight off numerous enemies.
The only drawbacks of the game are some of the fights and objectives are repetitive. Get this weapon to break this door, use this item to break open this safe, etc. Also, the game is short; it only takes a few hours to beat it. However, there is some replay value to it, as finding hidden items and bonus unlocks achievements on your profile.
Overall, I recommend this game, even though it is short and repetitive, it is still a lot of fun.
Condemend is repetitive at times, but wacking a zombifided HOBO in the head with the most random objects, "MANIQUIN ARM, PAPER CUTER, LOCKER DOOR" is priceless. the game lenth also depends on what difficult level you play on. i play on normal and finshed in about 12 hours. later i replay the game on its hardest dificuty and it took much longer. also the game is much more creepy on the harder difficulty. but when it comes down to it, it's worth a rent. so just rent it laugh, get scared, and beat it all in one to two days.

With the launch of the Xbox 360 gamers have a ton of choices when it comes to launch titles. But a common theme among the majority of the 360 launch titles has been sequels. The sixth edition of one game, the fourth of another, the second of this one, the 2006 version of that one. The list can go on and on but there were only a handful of original titles released for the 360. If you narrow that...
