Strengths: There are many strengths to this game including; beautiful graphics, easy button layout, large variety of characters, and a deep storyline.
Weakness: One of the main weaknesses to this game is that the gameplay gets a little repetitive if you've been playing for awhile. Another weakness is that it is too short for an rpg (about 25 hours).
I highly recommend Jade Empire because the xbox does not have many role playing games, and Jade Empire is an outstanding addition to the xbox's role playing game library. There is everything you would expect from a good rpg including leveling up, a variety of weapons, a large variety of background characters, beautiful graphics and a well thought out story. If you're looking for an rpg for the xbox, you can't go wrong with Jade Empire.

Strengths: Great story line, awesome fighting and magic
Weakness: None
This is probably the best RPG on Xbox yet. There was tons of hype about this game and I'm certainly happy to own it. This game is absolutely the best, and there's a limited edition with extra characters you can pick up. The story line to this game is what it's all about. If you liked KOTAR you will for sure like this. Every decision counts, the replay value is excellent!

Strengths: Another great Bioware RPG, beautiful graphics, excellent voice acting, intriguing storyline, real-time combat, colorful cast of characters
Weakness: Side quests end after 3/4 of the game is completed, previous areas visited can't be returned to after this either, relatively short for an RPG
Canadian developer Bioware made a name for itself in PC games over the years, but their console breakout title Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic won over both consumers and critics in 2003, winning at least five different game of the year awards. Having given the development of KOTOR 2 over to Obsidian Entertainment, Bioware's followup to their 2003 game of the year is Jade Empire.
If you liked KOTOR, it should go without saying that you'll enjoy Jade Empire. The gameplay remains essentially the same. You now experience combat in real-time, and given Jade Empire's martial arts action, you're essentially playing a simple 3D fighter. The graphics, rather simple and generic in KOTOR, have been ramped up quite a bit, and the voice acting is just as good this time.
Unfortunately, Jade Empire is a completely new franchise and doesn't have the established mythology, soundtrack and fanatical fanbase of Star Wars. Its storyline is also not as long or complex as KOTOR's, and its party characters don't get as as much development as those in KOTOR. There also comes a "point of no return" about three quarters of the way through Jade Empire where all of the sidequests abruptly end and all of the locations you've previously visited suddenly become inaccessible in favor of advancing the main quest.
The end result is that Jade Empire clocks in at a mere thirty hours of gameplay including all side quests, a good twenty hours less than KOTOR. If you usually skip by most RPG side quests, your experience could be considerably shorter. Given the relative dirth of RPGs in general for Xbox (much less good ones), Jade Empire ranks among the very best that the system has to offer. Bioware's characteristic high qualty storytelling and gameplay is here, but most fans will probably wish the adventure lasted a bit longer. A "limited edition" version includes a bonus disc with an extra playable character (male and female) that you can download to your Xbox hard drive.

Strengths: Great RPG elements mixed with real time fighting
Weakness: Rough auto-camera
Bioware really made a name for itself with Knights of the Old Republic. SO when I heard they were making another game, I thought it would be similar. Aside from a good story and an overall satisfying experience, boy was I wrong.
Jade Empire allows you to choose your character from a group of different archetypes. You can customize your character’s starting fighting styles and can gain different and more elaborate fighting styles as you go through the game. Just like KOTOR, your actions will affect how people react to you in the game and how yo are perceived by NPCs.
The combat system is real-time, unlike the turn-based combat in KOTOR. Like many fighting games, you have a fast attack and a power attack that can overcome an enemy’s block. There's also magic attacks which uses elemental attacks, or you can use a weapon during combat. Like the Matrix, you have a Focus ability, which slows down everything during combat and slowly drains your Focus bar. There are also a myriad of mini-games you engage in to proceed in the storyline, some better than others, but all good for variety.
Basically, this is a great game and well worth your time. If you like the idea of mixing KOTOR with Tekken, this is your game!

Strengths: excellent storytelling, exciting combat, and gorgeous visuals
Weakness: too much dialogue in the game
just from the hype on this game, Jade Empire has already established itself as one of the greatest xbox games available. It has a strong rating in all aspects of RPG play(ie. storyline, sidequests, graphics, uniqueness of characters). you have your choice of 6 awesome characters(7 if you have the LE version). you really cant knock the game, but i have to throw in one little complaint...TOO MUCH DIALOGUE!!! dont get me wrong the game should have enough depth to keep you excited, but the balance between action and dialogue is too even. bottom line...great game and soon to be classic. i still prefer KOTOR I or II.

Strengths: Easily, one of the best RPGs ever! BioWare's Jade Empire doesn't disappoint!
Weakness: None
No lie, this if the best rpg ever made. The story is amazing, the graphics gorgeous, sound and voiceovers perfect, and the controls, menu setup and combat system is flawless. If you love deep, innovative games and dont mind spending hours upon hours diving into them; then this game is for you.

Strengths: The best RPG on the Xbox, very in depth game. Excellent story.
Weakness: The game is a bit short for an RPG.
Bioware's latest RPG for the Xbox, Jade Empire, fulfills all my expectations. A great story with alot of interesting dialogue, this game is probably the best RPG yet on the Xbox. An interesting real time battle system rounds it out, as well as some interesting gameplay mechanics.
My only complaint is that it falls a bit short compared to normal RPG's - it's sad because the adventure is that good. It's worth replaying though, so no worries there.
If you were a fan of Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, this game is a must buy. Highly recommended.

This has to be the best RPG available right now. It plays out like a classic Kung Fu movie. The young pupil is trained in the Master's care. After a trajedy, he goes off on an adventure to get answers and kick butt along the way. The graphics are excellent, creating an ancient mythical China with an enormous cast of characters. All of the characters are voiced with commendable voice acting, making the experience much like participating in a classic Bruce Lee flick.

The Limited Edition version contains an extra character, additional combat style, foil outer wrap, playable demos and making of video. None of these features are included in this version of the game. It is recommended that you purchase the limited edition version of the game if possible.
From the makers of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, comes a totally new adventure called Jade Empire. The game resembles the Star Wars: KOTOR series in that it gives you choices during certain situations that mold your character into more of a hero or a villain.
The game offers two different paths to take, the way of the open palm or the way of the closed fist. The decisions that you make ultimately affect your hero’s point of view. Also, the decisions that you will make are not as clear cut as you would think (for example, save a child and lose the lives of many or save the lives of many and send the child to certain death).
The game play is similar to Star Wars: KOTOR, as you level up as you fight through hoards of enemies in real time. You also learn many different fighting styles and techniques throughout the game.
The controls are excellent as well are the in-game music and the voice acting. This is truly a great game. I highly recommend it.
Strengths: Real-time fighting system, good story line, nice graphics and audio
Weakness: Somewhat short for an RPG
Jade Empire is the latest RPG from Bioware for the Xbox. This game is set in a magical ancient China and features a very nice fighting engine. Unlike most RPGs, the fighting is done in real-time and is very easy to understand. The animation is extremely fluid and it's nice to watch all the martial arts moves that you character can do. There are several different characters to pick from and your choices in the game determine how the game progresses. The storyline is very compelling and will make you want to play this one straight through. Even non-RPG fans might want to check this one out.
Strengths: Excellent storyline, beautiful graphics, high replay value
Weakness: Bugs'n'glitches
Jade Empire is Bioware's lastest rpg and is just as classic as their previous Star Wars rpg.
What sets Jade Empire apart from many of their previous efforts is that the battle system is real time and almost plays like a 3D Final Fight rpg. Combat is fast and fun though it does tend to get very button mashy due to being able to get through most of the game without using many of your other special skills. But this isn't nearly as bad as the amount of bugs you'll run into, which has become standard Bioware fare unfortunalty.
Jade Empire's strengths greatly outweighs it's faults and the result is one of the greatest rpgs this generation. Well worth the $29.99 retail tag.
This a must-have for any Xbox RPG fan. Reminds me of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, which was released by the same company BIOWARE.
On to the game:
Real-time battles, pretty fast paced.
Many weapons, fighting styles, and characters to interact with.
The dialog between the people (and monsters) in the game are great, compelling you to keep on going through.
Storyline is top-notch, with many twists and obstacles ahead of you!
Graphics are very realistic, and immerse you into the environment.
Battling and winning against enemies is one of the best aspects of the game.
The sounds and music produced for Jade Empire are good.
jade empire is by far the best role play game on the xbox.the storylie is great.it offers alot of different martial arts.its also fun to play.its a great experience with a 50plus hour storyline.
the controls are great to because they are simple and easy to use,you can use multiple fighting styles that you can map to the dpad.
the graphics are great but i noticed you can stand in a deer, but other than that they are funamanal especialy the facial expressions are great.
i think if you want an rpg for the xbox make it this one
Strengths: Very Different! Good Action Battle System! Realistic Fighting style! Bright Clear Graphic!
Weakness: Story gets Boring and moves very slow pace! Too many stupid Side Quest!
After hearing about this game for the past year, I can't help but diving into the hype! Part of me was expecting something as epic as Final Fantasy & Star Ocean games, Another part is it could up like Fable. I have spent close to over 40 hours on this game. I'm not disappointed like I was with Fable but it falls along the line of above average RPG.
Pros: Lots! and Lots! of voice acting! and they are pretty well done! Battle system is pretty cool, but gets old after a while, Graphic is just simply amazing to look at! Fighting moves is motion capture so it's as realistic as it comes.
Cons: They try to make this game as long as possible, so there is a bunch of pointless side quest, story will run dry rite in the middle of the game (might turn some player to quit).
Overall: *** 4 OUTTA 5 STARS *** There is a Limited edition package of the game, so I'll picking up this version as well to collect.

When it was announced last year that BioWare was not going to be developing the sequel to their game of the year smash hit Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, more than a few gamers took some worried notice. Fortunately, KOTOR II turned out to be a great game that more than did justice to its predecessor. When it was revealed that BioWare was instead going to work on an ancient China themed...
